Farm Aid was started by Willie Nelson, Neil Young and John Mellencamp in 1985 to keep family farmers on the land and has worked since then to make sure everyone has access to good food from family farmers. Dave Matthews joined Farm Aid's board of directors in 2001.

Brandi every time i listen to this song I cry..... You tell the whole story. Being a father has been the turning point in my life. This song is absolutely magic and tells the story. Funny really, we could not be more different and yet the story belongs to both of us. You tell it so well!!

Andrew Murray, as a loving parent, I think that this song brings the waterworks for any mom or a dad. I'm a single dad of 4 daughters. We lost their mom in a tragic auto/truck wreck when our youngest daughter was 18 months old. All 4 are grown now with successful lives and happy families of their own. The chaos from their younger years is now highly cherished memories for me now.

It’s just so sweet when your daughter reaches out to touch your shoulder and scoot closer as you sing! Not a mom but I’m a musician (and BC fanatic) and damn this is just so beautiful.

My mother is a musician and I cannot describe in words what it’s like when she sings to me. It’s so special. When I was Evangeline’s age I rarely stopped begging my mom to sing to me. We had to make an agreement that she got to rest her voice every hour haha. To this day, if I have trouble sleeping I call my mom to sing me to sleep and I’m passed out in minutes. So if you do ever have a child, get ready to sing a lot. And remember the song doesn’t have to make any sense for your child to absolutely love it!
How I wish all mothers had this amount of love for their children! She has a such a bright beautiful soul! God bless you Brandi and Evangeline!
