​​​@@Orichonyou have to give Brandi the benefit of doubt. Brandi has always mentioned Indigo girls as an inspiration for their trailblazing ways, activism, song writing... Brandi has actually shared the stage with indigo girls and sang this song with them many many times. In fact there are some videos on KZread of them singing this together.

She toured with them last summer and saw them! It was amazing. They are her idols .

Feels like a tribute to my youth… a glorious reimagining of Emily & Amy’s song that became part of the soundtrack of our lives.

The Carlisle’s cover is incredibly beautiful…It feels like the grown-up version of this song that coming out when I was in college. Touches my heart still❤️

I agree with others that the only person on the planet entitled to cover this is Brandi Carlile. Having said that, the Indigo Girls are icons, this song is iconic, and the original version really should have been used to add another layer of meaning to its inclusion.

I could listen to her all day and never tire of her voice. ♥️

Love Brandi and this is a beautiful rendition but definitely a different vibe than the original. Not something that Barbie and friends, or anyone else, would sing along to on a road trip. Not being critical, there’s a place in my world for both versions!
