I actually like the theme song. Reminds me of my dad - “do it right”! 💙 He was a builder also but unfortunately died when I was only 10 of colon cancer. I wish he was still alive to teach me and help me learn and guide us in building a new house here. But I’m super grateful for great guys and teachers like the “Kilted Guy”. Very cool his dad was in the trades too. Thank you so much for all your great videos! I learn a lot. I also like watching the “Vancouver Carpenter”. He loves everything dry wall and I’d watch him at 1 am etc guiding me through a major dry wall mess I was working on improving myself on my own (hubby didn’t care about making it look nice since it was just a laundry room area but since I spend so much time there I didn’t want to look at a wall that appeared pregnant and seeing checkered board grid everywhere (especially since I was doing the painting and paid money for nice color, “Little Boy Blue” by Sherwin Williams)). Later on after I got done with my drywall and made a huge mess with dust lol, I discovered Kilted Guy’s videos. I am a lot more confident to at least try repairs etc thanks to theses guys. Thank you so much gentleman. And we need a good saw with vacuum attacked and a better shop vac attachment! I have Rigid’d but it falls off easily.

Just got the blade you recommended. I have more water damage in my daughters room so will be removing some of that wall also. I’m excited to see how well the new blade might cut through so we can add up new drywall. 💙

Great info. Something that's worked well for me is Makita's drywall saw. Cuts straight. Has a dust port. Also has a depth setting. Worth reviewing. Thanks for the video.

That’s my favorite drywall blade! It took a little to get used to it but once I had it down, I realized it was the best. It’s like a mini and thin jab saw creating very little dust. Everyone is different and was never really a fan of using a jab saw being afraid like you said knicking a wire or puncturing a pipe. Very impressed by the shavers too when you accidentally cut a hole or square slightly small. Quick, easy and precise. When I searched for one just like yours, I found that Milwaukee also made one but exactly the same w/ the shavers, depth gauges etc. Also I don’t know why but I feel like I already commented on this video. Very versitile tool! My second one kzread.infoUgkx0vyBwjtx9GGOuiqUVT2sRoYqmDoNT_RI replaced the first which lasted about 7yrs. Not sure the merrit of the 3 speed switch? Seems like a useless feature with the variable speed trigger, but if you don't have steady hands, maybe it'll save you some bandaids or damaged material. Recomended buy for almost anyone!

I'd be using those serrated edges as my depth gauge once the numbers disappeared if I had to. I'm not usually a drywall finisher but I did a job last year that was 20,000 square feet of drywall with my dad, I learnt as just as much from watching your videos as I learnt from guy I was doing it with, the job turned out fine.

I like that the saw’s tone is in A, and you picked a song in A. My ears are pleased 😂

I've always liked the 4 inch hole saw blades for your drill for round cuts then sticking it back in when you're done with your work with great stuff as a glue /filler. Then shaving that down with your multi tool after it expands and smearing it with some plaster of Paris ""rock hard finish with no backing hack"" but this is amazing I'm getting one...great stuff/plaster also works great for any small repair in drywall mitigation with the need for tape/mud/ect.. multi tools rule I want try that blade on the turkey tomorrow, happy Thanksgiving...

I use an oscillating tool quite a bit to cut drywall when I want to limit dust. I have found the round or half round steel blades work excellent, one great feature of these blades is they are very skinny and make a super fine cut free of feathering, however they dull quickly since they are made for wood. I just got a segmented carbide grout blade and will report back LOLs.

The DeWalt blade I use in this video has held up extremely well. I used to go through those half circle blades and others at least once a week but my DeWalt blade will often last a month.

Nice blade. Will need to get one of those. Not a fan of the oscillating tools but they do have their uses. I use a roto zip for doing precision drywall cutting. The biggest draw back with them is lots of dust.

I use mine quite a bit but yes, not for everything. Gotta use it where it works best. But sometimes manual is the wayto go.

Thank you for your video, I got a Bosch GOP 18V-28, I want to know will this blade fit on my one?

Wrist control On your right hand will make a big difference on how straight your lines are also. If you’re trying to go too fast for the blade to keep up them you’re pushing the blade off to one side or the other if you tilt the machine at all it will tilt the blade.

I got one and broke the dagger part in the corner of the drywall. I demo molded and wet drywall from floods and too damn weak to use my knife. But I can tell you the imperial blade speeds my workflow up

Will definitely need this blade eventually, but not yet. Have a lot of other jobs to get done before I get to that point.

If the numbers where embossed than the drywall dust would only enhance the visibility of the depth markings. I use oscillator drywall jab saw for all drywall removal, didn’t know this product existed, thank you for this video!

the depth gauge: it's gong to be back that far from the teeth when you have plunged-through. because of the curve, by the time the whole teeth have plunged through the back of a 1/2" sheet, the line will be across the back of the piece, and the front will show 1/2"

That blade is rounded to match the curve of the oscillating tool. You ever notice how that big the wall play that you like tends to bounce off of whatever you're cutting. Having a curved blade should minimize that

Wow. All down cuts would be the weight of the machine pulling FOR you! Then push the horizontal cuts are a quick push? I GOTTA get me one of these! (just because I'm a remodeling tool fanatic)

Have you tried using a jigsaw with a jigsaw blade snapped or cut to the thickness of the drywall you're working on to cut out old drywall? It is amazingly fast and you can run right over studs and wires and it wont go through. I dont know if it would be ok for drywall installation cuts but for removal it's the best I've seen.

For the push cut make sure to keep that about 45 degree angle with the tool so you have more control just like how you hold it for the pull cut

If you set the blade in your Dewalt so that it is angled back, you can do a Pul cut With that blade also

Please always use safety glasses. You only have one set of eyes. Can't buy it at the tool store.

Makita drywall saw is awesome! No dust when connected to vacuum.

Years ago I welded a section of Sawzall blade onto a worn out oscillating blade. It works great on drywall being longer so the movment is greater. It also lated much longer having carbide teeth. Angle the blade and you can cut up to a corner.

The first blade I bought broke after about 5 minutes of use. The Milwaukee guys at Depot replaced it for me. Nice guys. I took it to the job site and the second one broke after about 2 minutes of use. So I threw it away and bought a FEIN blade instead.

Depth line on an angle, rounded tip facing opposite the other cutting side... I’m not a pro installer but, the depth gauge looks like it’s made for “push cuts”. And why exactly can’t you pull it across the stud?

I retired my jab saw after getting an oscillating saw when cutting electrical outlet holes. Lifesaver! Have you done a video on accurately locating outlets? I have my methods.

I'm a carpenter/contractor and do most of my own drywall work. I tried one of these blades after watching this video. The stab feature works well, but the cutting teeth are very fine and cause it to cut very slowly. The pull blade snapped off after about 4 hours of use. I will stick with the old reliable semi circular drywall blades which are cheaper and last forever.

I have some had one break too and it does cut slower than some blades. Sorry for your experience.

As much as I love Oscillating saws, I always use a RotoZip type tool for drywall. Just my two cents.

How messy is it? I’ve used a oscillating tool once and it was so messy I opted to go back to a razor blade and a Sheetrock saw.

Thanks for making this video. I just bought this Dremel tool and I had to cut away drywall that was water damaged and this Dremel with the oscillating blade is amazing. Like you said, you don't run into the studs. It cuts drywall like butter. One question - would you use the same blade to cut a circle in an HDPE plastic container? Thanks.

Just tried one for a bunch of can light moves. I like the plunge blade and shaving edge, but the pull blade cuts like I'm trying to pull a utility knife thru the full thickness of the drywall in a single pass.

I use rotozip drywall tool and set the depth ....

Question - I've started repairs in my house (scraping all paint off walls then mudding entire wall surface going for smooth finish then new paint) and I'm gonna take it 1 room at a time. I have several bad electrical outlets that need replacing but on just about every outlet that needs replacing the other problem is that the plastic wall boxes (new work boxes) are stripped at the screw hole where the outlet fastens to the plastic wall box. I decided to remove all of these crap plastic boxes and replace them with metal outlet boxes (new work) that fasten to the side of a stud since I'm already doing all of this drywall work around them. I dont want to go with the old work boxes that clamp on to the drywall b/c those often work their way loose and then I'd have the same problem again with loose outlets. If you were installing new work boxes (that fasten to the side of a stud) with drywall hung, how wide should you cut your drywall hole? Is it best to cut it at 32" so that it covers 3 studs ( the outlet box would be the middle stud, then 16" in both directions to make it to the center of the adjacent studs). Or would it be better to just cut a hole from the stud the outlet is on to the center of 1 adjacent stud (16" hole or less depending on how far awa the next stud is)? If I do that I was wondering when I go to cut my outlet box hole out would it be too close to the edge of my fill in piece and crumble out - then I'd have to fill that in with mud after its hung? Or is there a better way of doing what Im wanting to do?

I just got my multitool back today from the hospital so i can cut a line down the center of a stud pretty fast/easy so the cutting of the drywall wont be difficult. I was just wondering whats the best route to take as far as how wide I should cut my hole out to install a new work metal box with drywall already hung.

I've used the flexible and stiff scraper blade on my multitool on old caulk and carpet glue and they'll reduce your time spent (and wearing out your arm/hand) scraping by over half. I haven't tried a drywall blade yet but I think I'm gonna pick one up today after watching this. How is the durability on them?

They have decent durability but the hook is a little bit weak if you get too aggressive

I normally keep my blades on a 30 to 40 angle on my Rockwell I think that will work great

That's Awsome. I'm not a drywaller but I am a plumber and this blade looks Awsome. Looks great for cutting through drywall to change out a shower valve and putting in access panels. Does Lowe's carry these blades?

Whow can I obtain that k you one please?

I have an idea for a drywall cutting blade (unless one exists already). When cutting drywall there could be times when there's fiberglass insulation with paper backing that I don't want to cut (or electric wires/pipes/etc) on the back side. A blade that will only cut 1/2 deep would be great. The blade could have a guard welded on top that prevents it from going any deeper than the distance from the teeth to the guard. Does this type blade exist? If not feel free to pitch it to blade manufacturers.

Makita makes a tool like that. It's similar to a jig saw.

They should make a coping blade for that so that you can use it for out of square inside corners doing base

Dremel made one a few years back but haven't seen them for a while. Worked good doing copes on intricate details.

Good for drywall.. unf all the walls I deal with are plaster/drywall, which destroys any blade quickly. I use old blades to cut drywall.

Use a grout removal blade for plaster . Cuts like butter.

You really need a close up of the tool head so we can see how it works. Will this blade fit any recip saw or only one make. You could tell the whole story in about 10 mins.

I use the Milwaukee drywall cutter in my M12 sawzall. I like it because it has no sharp teeth

I skipped 15 minutes of this and didn’t miss a thing

After enough Cuts with a blade all of the writing and markings on it get worn off anyway. The pool cutting though seems to be the cat's meow for this tool

10:54 & 12:45 lol this was hilarious with the music I just imagined butchering someone's drywall with this thing while banjos play 🤣 the push cut is obviously for horizontal cuts and the pull cut is for vertical cuts. Makes no sense to do a push cut upwards on a vertical cut you'd always want to go down on a vertical cut so you can control it better with downward force.
