    This is really embarrassing, but your channel came at a super nostalgic time of my life (over spring break a few weeks ago). I literally have watched all of your videos. All of your videos feel so genuine, relatable, and vibey. Every time you upload, I watch the new video on KZread VR on my Oculus asap. You’re extremely inspirational, very nastolgic to me, someone who’s going to be very successful, and someone who’s life I would kill to have! Please keep uploading, progressing, growing, etc…I can see you going very far. You’re my favorite KZreadr, as of late-

    vee!!! i love that you keep the idea that your first draft is your “discovery draft.” i love this idea because it takes away all the pressure for the first draft to feel complete and totally coherent, something that i’ve always struggled with and am still struggling with in my own project. ugh absolutely loving your videos darlin :)

  • @sincerelyvee

    @sincerelyvee

    yes!! i've also struggled with accepting that first drafts don't have to be exceptional right off the bat and so shifting my mindset to see them as a way of discovering my characters and my story through simply putting words on paper has helped me overcome that in my writing process :)

    This was such a fun vlog to watch! I love the idea of a "headlight" writer - I've never heard that before. I also love using the ennegram to learn more about my characters. I'm not sure how much backstory you are doing for your characters, but each ennegram number has a different childhood trauma, that I have found helps build my characters. Type 4's wound is abandonment - they have either been physically or emotionally left by those closest to them, so they assume others will continue to abandon them. Type 3's wound is believing they themselves are worthless because they have only ever mattered for what they did, rather than who they are. You may have already known this, but it is so helpful to me when writing that I wanted to share! Sending lots of love for this project

  • @sincerelyvee

    i had this idea of a novel, however i am really bad at planning so your videos help me a lot! i'm kinda here for advice on if my book idea is at least good. usually, when i have an idea i write for a week and then loose interest, except this idea has been plaguing me for a month so it's safe to say i'm interested. basically, there are a few characters (maxi caerwyn , the main character, roux banning, jinx christabel, carrie gwenore, and sorrell donn) that all go to Lincoln High, which has been experiencing some murders occurring. the first, was at a performance where carrie was the main character in the play, where someone fell through the stage's floor and found the body of Seva Inbar. And then the second murder, in the cafeteria's back room, where Naim Dorinda had died as well. it's all the same murderer, and as more murders occur, Maxi realized that she knows who the killer is. and she feels guilty about telling anyone who it is but they're a murderer. it's a story about survivors guilt and internal conflict, which is something i have been experiencing lately. i've already planned some of it (watching this video helped me so so much!!) so i'm at least gonna write a first draft. if anyone wants to let me know what they think i would love to hear feedback! great video, i'll be sure to watch more!

    I'm a teen writer (fourteen at the time writing this comment) and so far the only stories I have published are wattpad fanfic from many years ago. I have deleted the all because I couldn't stan how poorly written they were and how many grammatical and phrasing errors there were (English is not my first language and at the time I wasn't very goot at it), but lately I've been watching many videos like this and they inspired me to start writing longer stories instead of the usual 1000-4000 character ones I keep to myself and my friends. I hope this new project goes well and if it does I hope to be able to publish it. These type of video are very inspiring for me as well as many other authors out there, so thank you and good luck to you and all your future projects!

    4:50 SAMEEEEE. Whenever the name of a character is even a little bit off, (even in the feels) I just can't write the name. It's a huge problem because then I can't write the character that comfortably. This one time, I kept writing a character as "Hudson" instead of their actual name I set.

    @@sincerelyvee I'm a words/lists oriented kinda writer. Till I'm satisfied with what I have, and to understand my thoughts in the first place, I make notes. Notes, notes, notes. Lots of them. Pages upon pages, bytes upon bytes. Sometimes I collect images, because I have a hard time visualizing things, but because I have this difficulty, it's a long time before I create the first scenery Pinterest board, for example. I have a lot of problems figuring out the names to my characters, I always try to choose something by the meaning but, usually I just go for what seems cooler. Hehehe. And when I am not sure, I start to repeat the name every time I have the chance until I am really sure it fits. Hehe. Good luck with your new novel! I’m fifteen, I’ve always loved writing stories and things of that nature since I was very young. As of recent years I’ve been far more strongly desiring to becoming a self published author. I want to go to college and major in creative writing. It is very discouraging being often told that I should just give up on it due to it not being able to “make me a lot of money,” or not being something “I’ll find a job for right when I graduate.” A part of my head often tells me to give up and become a doctor but my heart wants to take the risks. I don’t know what to do 😅

    Many authors have jobs and write part-time before they can write full-time. Having a job *will* make it tricky to make time to write, but it's possible to write and work. Just be sure to find a good balance! :) Good luck with whatever you choose to do!

    Hii, I am 13 years old and a few years ago I recently found out that I want to be a writer and I’ve always enjoyed writing stories when I was younger. I want to start my first book but I don’t know where to start with my book or how to plot it, I also don’t have a computer I have a iPad.

  • @sincerelyvee

    @sincerelyvee

    2 жыл бұрын

    hey haley! the great thing about novels is that they can be written anywhere! notebooks, loose paper, computers and ipads work too! as long as you can put down words :) as for where to start i would first figure out if you're a plotter (someone who needs to outline what happens in there book before writing it) or a pantser (someone who simply starts writing and likes to see where the story takes them). if you're a pantser, i would start by figuring out a clear story idea that you want to write and one (or multiple) fully fleshed out main characters so that when you start writing you have something to work with! if you're a plotter, i highly recommend following some of the steps i take in this video to outline your novel before writing. the next step is just to write and let your story unfold!! if you want a more in depth answer i'll consider making a video about where to start when it comes to writing :) hope this helps💓
