I know this was posted in 2011, but...are you kidding me? The original settlers of this area were Ojibwe/Anishinaabeg. Their language is Ojibwe/Ojibwemowin/Anishinaabemowin. "Indian language", smdh.

Pretty sure the Dakota were here first. Maybe read the historical marker at Rum River and Highway 169, "Battle of Izatys," just south of Vineland. Ojibwe/Chippewa came to central Minnesota from the East.
