BRAIN EXPERT Explains How To Boost Brain Health & IMPROVE FOCUS | Dr Rahul Jandial

Ғылым және технология

We are undergoing a huge technological experiment. In our pockets we have tiny technological miracles through which we can communicate, instantly, with anyone on the planet. We are constantly bombarded with endless information. But what impact is all this having on our brain? Why is it important to allow our brains to drift into random thoughts and be creative? I discuss all this with neuroscientist and brain surgeon, Dr Rahul Jandial, who loves technology but believes that we need to structure some boundaries around its use - especially for children. We talk about the impact of music on the brain and what it means to be in flow state. Dr Jandial explains what happens in the brain when we engage in what he calls “meditative breathing” and why he is such a huge proponent of it. He explains how his knowledge of brain health has shaped the way he parents- from encouraging navigational skills in his children to exposing them to a diverse range of experiences. It seems where the brain is concerned - if you don’t use it, you lose it! Finally, he draws on his years of experience as a brain surgeon to share some practical tips that can help us all get the best out of our minds.

Dr Rahul Jandial is brilliant as usual and his book is the best gift you can give to your family especially kids and friends - meditative breathing, reading books, getting vertical moving, doing puzzles, navigation using memory are simple but evidence based scientific tips that just anyone can implement in daily life. Thanks Rahul - you are a delightful and compassionate human 🌹

Doing 8 things on the "to do" list *during the day* is NOT "multi-tasking" - since the tasks are handled sequentially. Making the list is NOT multi-tasking. Being aware of the list while washing dishes is not multi-tasking. About the best level of genuine multitasking would be doing something relatively mindless, like knitting, while listening to a lecture. You can't type while putting your socks on. You decide which you'll do first.

Do different nationalities have a different brain design in the prefrontal cortex that causes one nationality to be more depressed or violent than the other nationalities? Is there something in the blood of a nationality that generally causes more violence and depression than other nationalities? Does eating meat cooked rare contribute to a persons blood or emotions in a negative way? Is it common to see a image of a cat in scans? Does the weight of the brain effect a persons emotions? Thank Youuuu

Right , so music , the difference between noise and music is that the music is structured noise , that mirrors the brain flesh - it is like brain surgery , without a knife . The musicians are highly engaged in their brain chemistry , so they make sounds that energize themselves . Put five musicians together , and all are getting high from their mirror , and you have a circle of angels standing around the listener . Music is medicine for the mind , it supports , lights up , and helps grow the mind .

The brain is not distracted by multitasking. This nonsense about your brain is constantly distracted by the likes of social media is untrue. Before social media existed the brain was also distracted all the time, you stood in a queue and wondered what shade of colour was on the walls or if that stain will come out of your favourite shirt, then said coffee and tart please in mid distraction. Or when hunting for food you were distracted by the possibility that you would end up as food for some other beast. The brain constantly distracts itself, if it did not the beautiful art of mankind down the millenia could not have been created. The imagination of man as he thinks every second (when distracted from or during daily life ) is the most powerful thing in the universe, we are human - we are not automatons. P.S that Doc Rangan talks too much !!

Before mankind started reckless development destroying our planet before we had shoes I think we were like Elephants where we had GPS and even used vibrations we felt our feet we used all our census is part of our GPS with our brain and we've really lost that. Wild elephants face extinction there is a crucial part of the ecosphere us is so much wildlife. If you go to KZread and search Elephants walking through five star lodge it's in Africa that large that hotel respects the elephants ancient GPS and I just feel so sadly for our wild life and our future humans. Thank you this was a great talk to listen to and just so you know I'm a casualty of unethical doctoring terrible abuse when I went to see my dermatologist who rents from this horrible terrible unethical doctor here in New York City where I was very badly hurt mentally physically spiritually I'm going because they continue to lie. Google dr Fagelman assault. I was a different doctors patient my patient rights my privacy my body violated I only put the KZread up a few days later when the woman who punched me was monitoring me on social media and the bullying and menacing from behind the medical desk continued online I'm alleging she and her boss encouraged that and the boss the doctor has admitted he discussed me with his patients without even investigating what happened! He said Underoath didn't happen on his property it had nothing to do with him I mean that's just evil there's so much evil my brain hurts, i'm so tired it's so many years now as I continue to fight for justice because many of the crimes have no statute of limitations! The video shuts off you don't see a running punched my head so hard I had to get laser surgery on my eye she grab my hair and shook my head I was holding bags two injections in my left arm because I had a cyst removed I am so scared of damage to my brain and neurology but to make it worse their tactic was to engage the police when they learned I went to the place they engage the place in breaking more laws threatening me falsifying police reports using her false cross complaint. I had his patients coming putting me down saying I was crazy. If I was crazy then you should give me more compassion not less but I'm not crazy I'm a patient and my patient rights were violated. She had the option to close the door or apologize but instead The video shots off you don't see a running punched my head so hard I had to get laser surgery on my eye she grab my hair and shook my head I was holding bags two injections in my left arm because I had a cyst removed I am so scared of damage to my brain and neurology but to make it worse their tactic was to engage the police when they learned I went to the place they engage the place in breaking more laws threatening me falsifying police reports using her false cross complaint. She had the option to close the door or apologize but instead They continue to this day to lie they've lied under oath and makes me think there is no Hippocratic oath at least not New York city New York state and United States of America it's such a disgrace so I don't sleep much I barely sleep my brain hurts I'm tired and I'm so scared I'm gonna have neurological or brain disorders from all the long-term lies and abuse on going
