A good musician is a good musician no matter what the ethnic background or age. However, I must say as a black parent of string students wherein my children are often the only blacks in their ensembles or orchestras, it is particularly encouraging to see young black men playing classical music this well. Bravo!

Oh I so agree with you !! - music has no barriers and whatever colour your skin happens to be is completely irrelevant . Music comes from the heart and the soul & if we are given the gift and the technical brilliance to go with it we can communicate and connect with others all over the world . I myself have it all in my soul and heart but have not been given the technical ability so find it really frustrating ! Thanks to people like Sheku ,Bramah & Isata I can find this wonderful release . Thank you all SO SO much

I whole-heartedly see where you are coming from and I agree. I just wanted to add that I am white, my grandmother came to USA alone when she was 11 from Finland (I just enjoy sharing that), I was born in 1984, so i'm an elder millennial from Louisville KY--I was in band in school--white, black, asian--we didn't notice. I'm jealous of all great musicians like these guys, lol. They put in work to sound this good. bravo to their hard work. I started playing cello last year--I'm not good but I love it

Sylvia Lamar Colon I concur. Additionally what American children listen to can hardly be considered music. I cannot read a note , play an instrument, and can barely carry a tune. But my spirit knows great music. At age 13 I saw the movie of George Gershwin which featured sympony orchestra accompaniment as he played Rhapsody in Blue, which still makes me cry. I was hooked. That was over 55 yrs ago. I'v been listening to these young ppl's various performances most the day. Mesmerizing.

Sharon Cansler , I believe that we have kids here with the same amazing talent that this wonderful young man and his family have, but we are not nurturing them. I know the movie you're talking about Sharon I love it too I watch it whenever I catch it on and it makes me cry too. Side note, I happen to work in Manhattan about four blocks away from where George Gershwin used to live on the upper west side they have a plaque on the building that mentions the music he wrote while living there.

Sylvia Lamar Colon Thank you Sylvia for sharing that bit.on information with me. Music is universal. Incidentally when I saw the movie I was a student in an all black boarding school in Jackson Ms. At the time it was called Piney Woods jr sr College (even though it was only primary to High school) The school enjoyed some noteriety back then, hosting students from Africa.. Of all my experience at Piney Woods, the introduction to classical music thru Geo and Ira Gershwin, I am most appreciative. Thanks again

Yes. And the culture in America is rotten and rotting. (It's better in Britain but far from perfect.) The colour of the skin makes it MUCH harder to succeed. This oh-so-worthy HARD WORK you preach is MUCH more likely to pay off for whites. (BTW I am white.)
