    I appreciated this 5 minute fireside and I loved it that most people who responded took the time to say what was positive for them. For me Brad was enthusiastic and he helped me sort out stuff! Love it when a person is able to get across a good message in five minutes. That takes talent. That takes strong organizational skills. I loved it that I felt the Holy Ghost was with him and encouraging him as he encouraged me! I would certainly tune in to hear more from Brad and I thank our Heavenly Father that he has blessed Brad to be the wonderful person he is!

  • @HyperOrangeDragon

    @HyperOrangeDragon

    You may feel you don’t need religion to know who you are, perhaps you are right, perhaps you are strong enough and self aware enough to figure it out on your own. But having religion would have made that path of discovery easier, and having the gospel near will help you hold on to that truth of who you are when so many other influences will try to dissuade you and get you to change over the years. Perhaps you are stronger than most and able to find the correct path without guidance, but do you think everyone is as strong as that? Your participation in actively living the gospel may help others, maybe even just by example, who need that support from your strength. Everyone deserves a chance to know the truths about themselves and you might be able to help them and in so doing be a better person than you could be standing alone.

    This is not just a religion. This is a fullness and expansiveness that will empower your life and those around you. Truth is not just inside of you, but all around you. There are heights and horizons that will unfold from the carrying power of the knowledge of the restoration of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I have discovered this myself and I cannot wait for what is to come in my life because of not just what I know, but because of what I am because of what I know.

    I would like to address you Matthew about how you feel. I am in a world of trial and tribulation myself. Even last night I struggled to feel that God doesn't care about me. One thing popped into my mind as I had all those terrible thoughts. "All beings who have bodies have power over those who have not. The devil has no power over us only as we permit him". Joseph Smith Matthew you and I are allowing Satan and his followers to tell us it is God and his angels that doing this making us feel that way, that it is God that is making fun of you. There are two powers fighting for your soul and letting the devil and his miscreants lead us to think it is God. Don't allow the adversary to do that to you. I promise you that you can know God is not behind these feelings and thoughts and he loves and cares about your welfare, but you are allowing Satan to have control right now. Don't let him have that privilege, you are better than he will ever be because of your right choices. Don't give up, go to God in prayer asking him if he loves you. He will let you know.

    I think this message is subtly dangerous and not even doctrinal. It is ok to be quietly good. Not everyone was born to be the leader, to be a prophet, to do the great and marvelous things. And that is simply ok. If you are a farmer who does not interact with the society very much, who just quietly goes about his business, doing good, not changing the world, then that is ok! Where in the scriptures does it ever say that we made a covenant in the way described in the video? Nowhere. This video could give people a messiah complex, could lead to people feeling huge guilt when they DON'T change the world. It is ok to just be quietly good.
