Sweet. He has changed much over those many years. I was at sm AIC concert in Vienna at 2018. It was great but he seemed withdrawn ( I saw him before they went on stage on a huge window on the second floor , inside the building where the backstage area was, leaning against the glass and staring at the crowd , just overlooking the scene and kind of looking. .....very far away ) but he didn't really connect until the classics came on : Nutshell , Roster , etc and some people tried hard to sing along but one could hear voices crack.... And at the end he walked off as soon as possible. He said something on stage and it was kind of choked up , right after the usual mentioning of Layne and Mike..... The audience was confused and clapped.... Later I read my phone and read that vinnie paul had died a fee days before. It was the day of his funeral. That was what he said on stage but the mic made a sound so nobody heard it clear ! I think I wasn't the only one who felt like a huge asshole for clapping.... we only tried to acknowledge the LSMS speech, as it is on their base drum....but we didn't get the sentence after that....as if we clapped for a fucking funeral happening. I never felt so bad in a long time.

As if he didn't already look exhausted and floored with memories enough and we clapped and sceamed, after he said what i know now must have been close to the lines of: "tonight we laid Vinnie Paul to rest..." UGH. After I read the news - I hadn't for a few days, maybe out of exitement for the upcoming concert- I wanted to go and apologise, but they were already gone. Damned feedback in exact the wrong 3 seconds out of ~ 2 hours.....

The world lost a great voice in music. The family lost a father, husband, and friend...... sad day....RIP CC

I made the trip, even brought my daughter, to pay my respects to Chris some months afterwards. I was shocked, SHOCKED, to see how understated his burial plot was. We had trouble even finding it. When we finally did, it was like a 12 by 18 black marble plaque, inconspicuously placed by the edge of the grass. It seemed somehow wrong that this man was not laid to rest in a mausoleum like Sir Isaac Newton's. Going did not make me feel better like I thought it would; I thought "If that's all CHRIS CORNELL gets, then I will certainly one day depart this world with much less." But then I realized that his legacy is the body of beautiful music he created, not some polished rock somewhere.

I was a bit disgusted too, but its actually kinda interesting to see these celebrities attend something like this. We mainly see these celebrities when they're doing some kind of performance. It's rare we see them as normal human beings who feel loss just like the rest of us. It's also interesting because when I think of Chris' friends, I think of Tom Morello and Chester Bennington. So it's neat to see Brad Pitt, Jeremy Renner, and Josh Brolin were also affected by his death.

I'm glad we all get to watch this. Chris Cornell affected so many people. We understand that when a loved one dies, you probably don't want a lot of people there. At the same time, everyone there understood how amazing Chris was and how many lives he touched. Don't forget, they did have a very private ceremony with only 4-5 people there when he was cremated. I think it's amazing that you see people like Joe Walsh, Brad Pitt, Jimmy Page, Jerry Cantrell, Chester Bennington, Dave Grohl, Christian Bale, James Hetfield, Tom Morello, Dave Navarro, Lars Ulrich, Kim Thayil, and more. I don't think ANY of them did it for publicity or because it was "the thing to do" for celebrities.

Im sorry but this is the first time i actually watched chris cornells funeral services and im at a loss for words. This man was so genuine, caring, funny and brought so much to so many lives and the people at his funeral look dead themselves. No one is showing any emotion. I'm still crying 4 years later. Just finished reading Corbin Reiff's book about Chris. I've been a Soundgarden fan for over 30 yrs and I was astounded at what a life the guy led. RIP brother, you were gone much too soon.

This is so poinient with Chester singing at Chris's funeral, only to pass himself a short time later. Both Chester and Chris were music legends, and had amazing voices, they are so sadly missed RIP CHRIS AND CHESTER 💔💔❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥🤟🤟💯💯

poor Chester. he really was affected by Chris's loss..he wrote he can't imagine a world without Chris... this was countdown till Chester ended his life....miss Chris and chester

Glad to have played the Seattle circuit during the grunge scene. Chriss and the band were kind to me. God Bless You Chriss and family. Well fought brother.

This guy's stunning voice and beautifully written songs have been part of my life's soundtrack since the late eighties. The Temple of the Dog album has been a friend I have turned to during the darker times over the years, and Badmotorfinger or Louder than Love always go on when it's time to party. I haven't yet got my head round the idea that there will be no more. Peace, love and empathy.

Every time I hear Chesters lovely version of hallelujah I can't help but to tear up...

Its hard to believe that its been 7 years this month that we lost this great musical genius and gifted man! May you continue to soar an sing with the angels! You were definately 1 of a kind!

Yesterday marked 7 years since his death, and God is still hurting. How is it possible for one to feel such a great connection for someone who is not part of your family and whom you have never met in person? However, he inspired so many people with his profound lyrics and beautiful melodies. RIP Forever CC

I saw Chris and Chester live in Brisbane, Chris opened for Linkin Park. He was amazing, wasn't just an opening set but went for an hour then he joined LP on stage for Pushing Me Away. I was a kid it was about 2006ish. Sad, both were amazing and to see them live together at once just can't ever be bettered for me. Metallica, Stones etc were all great but nothing can top that night of the two of them.

This is the saddest part of the misic industry. The Best singer songwriters are those who have lived the most horrific upbringings. To be able to go on in life they exteriorise their past throughout their songwriting which helps them cope... But, the other side of that is.... They've got to relive the same feelings everytime they get on stage... Untill they can't take it anymore. Chris Cornell in my opinion is... And forever will be... The greatest loss for the world of music. The greatest vocalist songwriter is gone. Just imagining what contributions Chris would have produced is seriously mind boggling... My you find your inner peace that you most incredibly deserve....😢

A Great collection of admirers. Including Joe Walsh. He left a positive impact on this Earth. And that's all that matters.
