My daddy waited on my mom, who has been consistently late all of her life, with the most patience of anyone I've ever seen. I would lean over the seat and honk the horn out of frustration while we were all waiting in the car and he'd say, "It's ok, Honey. Let her be." Then he'd smile this little smile. And I picture him waiting on a bench somewhere waiting for her now ... I played this song for him before Alzheimer's took him hard and he smiled that same little smile ... Goals...

I can’t listen to this song without crying like a baby. My Grandpa was a man that loved my Grandma from the moment he laid his eyes on her and never went anywhere without her, we also said he and Andy Griffith (the old man) were long lost brothers because of how alike they were. When he died our family all agreed he would’ve done this same thing and waited from Grandma at the Gates, where she joined him a little over a year ago after 9 years apart.

Everytime I see Brad Paisley I’m reminded of the time my sister, neice and great neice were at a fast food place in Franklin, Tn…Kimberly Williams Paisley was at an adjoining table with their then baby, Huck. My sister and neice immediately went into grandmother mode…ooohing and ahhing over the baby. Ms Williams/Paisly was immediately put out UNTIL she realized that they had NO idea who she was, but thought she had a beautiful baby boy. She transformed into a gracious proud parent! Not until they sat down with my somewhat embarrassed teenaged great neice did they know they had just met a movie star and the son of a country great!😂

My mom is slow for everything, but now that she's almost 80, she's even slower. My dad was always moving at his speed, which often left us behind when we'd walk somewhere when we were kids. It wasn't that he was in a rush, he just seemed to have his stuff in order and walked at his own pace with what seemed to be long legs. He was like that for the 54 years my parents were married. In the last year or so of his life, I saw he was slowing down a lot, because age made him slow down. I know without a doubt, my dad loved my mom intensely, but without having to say a single word, because to him, words are thrown around too much and they lose meaning. My dad has been gone for over a year, and I know he's patiently waiting in Heaven's waiting room. His patience was legendary when he was alive, and I hope it holds up even more so now. I hope he can be patient even longer, as I have to take care of my mom and want to keep her busy as long as God allows her, and we need her. So I take her shopping, to her doctors appointments, etc, and I don't mind that she takes a long time, because if dad did it, I can wait on a woman too. Someday, they will be together again, and they can wait on me when my time comes.

7:11 he is one of the best guitarist and he has perfect pitch aswell, he did an interview with someone years ago had the guy showed him a song one time and he played it back to him perfectly... not many artists can pull that off

I hated country music for significant portions of my life, until age and wisdom helped me realize how it can deeply speak to universal themes of life. Not all country music succeeds, especially today’s snap track driven drivel. But Tyler Childers and many other artists make important contributions to country music culture. It’s a pleasure to watch your newfound appreciation of country music.
