Watching this to get my footy fix while the NRL is suspended. Absolutely fantastic package mate, Freddy was probably the greatest Rooster ever and one of the greats of the modern era. He had it all but his step and leadership were unmatched. When the game was on the line, he'd always lift. Just look at the 2000 prelim v Knights, the 02 GF or the Anzac Day game from 04 where he single-handedly stepped two players to score and seal a Roosters win. Perfect song too buddy, I get emotional every time I see the video.

Had the size, speed, tactical awareness, courage and skill to play anywhere but the front row. Brilliant off the cuff, mature in structured play and tactical game management. Read the field brilliantly. A stepper, a sprinter, wonderful touch on his kicks, so inventive. So big and strong for a 5/8. Tough and mongrel when he needed to be. He had it all. +craig slade Clear blatant bias. Wally was the King of Origin. However, he didn't dominate at ARL level as he was past his prime by the time the Broncos came into play and was even sacked by Bennett. Fitler was the youngest to ever play Origin, dominated his position of centre, won a GF with Penrith then went on to be one of the all time great 5/8s winning comps at the Roosters as captain. Big enough to play lock for Australia and NSW on a few occasions and dominated there too also captaining both those rep teams. His name deserves to be tossed up as a future immortal somewhere down the line. FYI I'm not a Penrith fan nor a Roosters fan. Fuck the Roosters!

Freddy didn't hide behind the attacking line. He was the attack. He directed every play. His long driving kicks would always put his side in the position he wanted. He single handedly turned the '02 Grand Final with a 40-20 kick which completely swung the game in his favour. His sidestep is unmatched, almost impossible to defend against. A keen eye, and acute passing game would put players through gaps with ease. You've been watching footy for thirty years without ever watching.

So privileged to have followed his career
G.O.A.T ❤🐓💙❤🐓💙🥇💪👌👍
The match when Freddy took the intercept from Joey Johns pass was one of the best matches he ever had. I was there that night and the stadium was packed with more Newcastle fans to Roosters . Freddy was and still is awesome.

+jorologo Let's be honest. There's still more opposition fans than Roosters fans at Roosters homes games today. It's not hard when they have a grand total of 5 fans including Uncle Nick.

As someone who regularly goes to the SFS this is simply not true. True that roosters fan turnout isn't the best but it isn't THAT bad.
Is there a better site then Fittler off the left foot! His passing game was unbelievable, the man had incredible hands. Great vid mate, I love that try against the dragons in the anzac game were he steps the fullback.
Bloody Fittler, He was just too good, if he wasn't around, the knights probably would have made the grand final a few more times in the early 2000's
That left foot step was a thing of beauty.
Marvelous!
All the skills.
Another great video. It was touching. I hope one day you can make a video like this for one B. Anasta too.
Just Wow🎉
GREAT..my favourite
This bloke could have played for 3 more seasons. I hated Freddy during Origin time. Loved him when he played for Australia. He was sensational and such a great competitor. That step broke plenty of opposition fans hearts. Glad he won a couple of Premierships. Even though I am a Manly supporter. I reckon He is a legend.
@z0mgrugbyreturns thank you again =) i am glad you still enjoy watching this video, I have made a lot of video's on youtube, this is one of my favs. thank you again
There'll never be another Fittler
its more then a football montage, this is a tribute to the man, the roosters legend Brad Fittler, i could have done what everyone else does and add rock or rap but i though it needed some feeling to it, try watching it again and you will see that every clip matches the music.
I never got to watch Freddy, even on T.V. I missed out.....I wish I had of known of Rugby league as well while growing up, only got into it the last 2-3 years. Also wish I could have seen Andrew Johns. 2 of the greats. Geez Freddy had some jets and an awesome sidestep.
i dont know how anyone thinks otherwise.. Fitler was bigger, stronger, faster, had a better kicking game, better passing game, better defensive game. He was better than Lockyer in every facet of the game.
Fittler was real good...glad he coaches the Blues now!!...
King Wally thank you
Footballers footballer, bloody legend!
FITTLER PUTS ON A STEP, PUTS ON A STEP AGAIN, OH GO FREDDY THAT IS MAGNIFICENT, OH YEAH GO FREDDY, YOU SHOW THEM HOW ITS DONE, PEOPLE SAY LOCKYER AND JOHNS YEAH YEAH YEAH, LOOK AT THIS MAN, LOOK AT THIS FACE, LOOK AT THIS ONE OF A KIND PLAYER, YOU HAD A GOOD ANOTHER 2-3 YEARS IN YOU FREDDY, I STILL LOVE YOU, AND I WOULD STILL HAVE YOU AS A RETIRED PLAYER STARTING OVER CARNEY AND ANASTA, GO FREDDY, YOU DID THE CLUB PROUD!, SHOULD HAVE BEEN IN THE TEAM OF THE CENTURY, UNLUCKY, ALL HAIL KING FREDDY
Number one team in the world

He put downward pressure on the ball after smart thinking
legend
Look how good we were, at the time we had the Australian and Nsw Captain Brad Fittler, We had the Queensland and Papua New Guinea captain Adrian Lamb, We had the England Captain Adrian Morley, We had the Tongan Captain Lopini Paea and we had the New Zealand Captain Richie Barnet but what I am trying to say is, Fittler is better then Johns and you know it!
Big, Fast and Strong.
oh i only just realised Freddy was a one club player :( cant be a true highlight reel without his panthers stuff...
No ones better then Freddy.
