Having started watching ballroom YT channels for a few years now, I’ve noticed something: judges at Kiki balls stand 10 toes down on meeting the category requirements a lot more than judges at mainstream balls such as this. Sometimes, they’re even too strict, which tends to be solely off of preference, which ideally should take a backseat. The fact that this and BQ Vogue Fem Dramatics had enough 10s to have multiple battles makes little to no sense. I’m a novice, sure, but even I know that 360s do not equal dramatics nor should it be found in a performance that is meant to be soft. If you can’t meet the pretty clear requirements of a category, then you shouldn’t walk it. The judges can’t be relied upon to make proper judgement calls about their friends and/or house members.
