So grateful for this message on the visit of Jesus to the temple in Jerusalem at age 12. It seems that I have to go to media like KZread to hear sermons on events in the earthly life of our LORD. Modern sermons don't seem to focus very much at all on these events, at least not the ones I've heard.

Mr. Sproul, I believe you missed a critical piece to this story. The Jews questions at that time were leading questions. At 12 years of age, Jesus, was leading these learned men to a point. He most likely was enjoying the discussion very much. What point do you think a 12 year old might want to make? There is only one topic that would make any sense and that would be that he was helping them understand the role that the Messiah would play. He was asking leading questions to help them get there. :)

That's a good hypothesis, however his parents were a good ways to their home and it was a while before they made it back to reteive him. So it could have been a lot more that he discussed with them

Do live in which World ? RC Sproul has passed away long Ago ...But , lets Go , yours , and only your uanderstanding about that passage does not match what 99% of the theologians say.. I dont think all of them are wrong and you are right, right?

@@Cajj04IraqTQ The text doesn't say "experts" but rather the learned men. And it's not just the law, but also the prophets. Two very different things. Keep in mind that we have the creator of the universe, the lamb of God, the great Jehovah who has come to earth. He was teaching, not being taught. It "silly" to think he wouldn't be lifting their vision about his great mission to humanity ie the atonement.

No 12yrs old can do what Jesus did going to the temple or going to the church by himself.

Also Jesus is God, so….

He literally got up from the dead , after they forsed Him into it,hey u nice, & beat Him up anyway, because He was nice , now u got His attention, it's wasn't the best move , but u did , now the repercussions, vengeance is His , & He like children & ill bet He's protective of what's His ! this planet is His , the things on it , natural things , growing things is His , if u harm them, y u try your hardest to forgive ouchie made from yrs past , it wasn't your falt & their in troubles & if we not forgive we won't get any either, where the heart comes in , y u don't be iffy with children, u complicate the heck our of big important things , like woah ! 💝🚴‍♀️
