Wheeker - my new Facebook Group. Feel welcome, say your piece, do not fear the admin and mods and walk around on eggshells. So silly. There appear to be attempts in certain guinea pig groups to control information, deleting what does not agree with personal beliefs and removing any posts not in line with what groups admin has decided is the one and only truth. Meaning, you don't even get to see opposing views!
Some of these groups have grown quite large. The manipulation and withholding of information is not a good thing. This is wrong in so many ways, free speech not allowed in fact.
I encourage you all to make up your own mind when it comes to guinea pig care info. If that includes not agreeing with me that is totally fine. You are welcome to discuss your grievances here as well. / 137047001051961 My invite stands - hop to see you there

I can smell this video from Australia ;) On a serious note, you do such a wonderful job of caring for all of the piggies who have the good fortune of crossing your path. It's heart warming to see your devotion to caring for these sweet little animals that all too often are treated like "disposable" pets. You're amazing, keep fighting the good fight!

Olive oil is becoming common in other medical procedures. I was watching an ENT doctor use EVOO for a very delicate ear procedure. I got to thinking about Saskia and team. Now is the perfect time for one of your marketing reps to approach some of these olive oil companies for sponsorship before someone else does because TLAGPR (The LA Guinea Pig Rescue) deserves it!!!! 😊

People need to remember that a lot of the guinea pigs you have to clean have never been done before. With the information you’re providing, people can stay on top of it and it doesn’t have to get bad. It’s not pleasant; but you’ve shown how quick and easy it can be; it’s such a small price to pay for their love ❤️ No animal is without pee, poop and smelly messes. They rely on you.

So I know this is a two year old video, but something that occurs to me is that if you do regular checks (as recommended here) even when they're young and it's unlikely there's going to be problems, they'll be more used to having those checks by the time they also need to have cleaning done, so it'll be less stressful for you both!

@@littlebopeepcattery2186 we have a boy and a girl. The pet store didnt tell us we needed to get 2, and they told us our piggy was a boy. So, it took like 10 months to find a baby boy piggy. We got him home, compared him to our other piggy, and realized our first piggy was a girl. They have been in separate cages, but close enough to touch noses and talk to each other. We had planned to get our boy fixed, but, our girl didn't like having him near her unless they were in their cages. They've been happy neighbours for over 5 years now.

Shes a about year old and actually looks like shes doing much better then she was at the previous owners house. But ive noticed for the past 3 days she doesnt eat food unless im in the room with her or holding her. I work nights so i put just a little bit of food in her cage to munch on till im home (working 8-12hrs a day). But lately the food hasnt been touched but as soon as she sees me come in she waits at her cage door or immediately will run over to it and start eating??? Is this normal??

Those who have adopted from here who live multiple states away, what's your recommendation for transporting guinea pigs hundreds of miles away? I'm considering adopting and need to plan transportation.

Is there an easy way to get the wiener out? I have a hard time with my boars & sometimes after I get it out it disappears when I let it go. Then he looks like a girl 😁
