Another great video . One of the great benefits of trad hunting is the ability to shoot anytime without searching for arrows because of the speed limitation. I for the past ten years carry a cheap car detailing sponge yellow orange or whatever color is cheapest for a target. Many times for the stand I have shot muzzleloading cleaning patches that double as scent wicks . Good luck this season !

Great ideas. It's always important to practice from a stand

Excellent warm up tips and remembering to practice throughout even with stump shooting is another great tip. Nate

Great advice. Stump shooting or “roving “ is one of my favorite things to do. Great fun.

Agree. Honestly there have been a few times already this year I was like "screw it, rather than hunt I just want to walk and stump shoot all day".

It's a balance. If I do too much high-volume practice, my cold shots can suffer. If I do only cold shot practice, the volume is too low and my form can suffer. I have to plan ahead and be intentional about when to do which kind of practice.

Yep! I can tell when I need more, when my 3 cold shots in the morning aint like magic..then I spend a bit more time during the day..not a lot mind you but a coup!e dozen spread out over the day..A few from elevated high angle to wrap it up..and I'm back on the magic feather!

Great tips as always. I'm up here hunting in Alberta the last 2 days and it was below freezing this morning in heavy fog. Funny to see you hunting in a tee shirt, lol. Anyway, I did a few early morning pulls on the bow and boy my muscles did not like it one bit after long days with a heavy pack. I did a bunch more until I felt like the muscles were sliding correctly then I took a shot and was happy with the result. Practice how you hunt. For me, I use a tab over a glove in the cold so you have to practice that as well. Practice is endless.

Yep been there. Have missed a few shots because of lazy muscles from sitting.

Another tip in the field is the oil from the outside of your nose can help with the noise

That is a great tip. I knew a guy that used to whipe his tab on his nose to keep it from creeking

I have a video on littering coming up soon. Makes my blood boil to see all the crap in the woods and on the wma roads here. Never seen anything like it up north. Down here I have to carry walmart bags in my truck to pick it all up.

I agree. I prefer the hammer heads to a judo but, either is a great way to practice.

@tradbowpodcast I take the tip of my knife and cut about a half inch recess in my quiver foam the diameter of the 200 grain hammer. Then that spot can run field tip, broadhead or blunt. I need to get my hands on some quiver foam. Mine was laminated foam and it separated on me. I had some old Selway foam laying around and cut my foam out of it but, it squeaks pulling an arrow.

Just yesterday I drew back on a deer with an aluminum arrow and some grains of sand on the leather side plate. Thay buck heard the very faint sound my arrow made as I was drawing back and looked right at me. I was fortunate that he decided to ignore me.

@@SamkoTradBow it did work out. I am curious tho, besides cleaning your arrows off, do you ever put any kind of conditioner on leather side plates to reduce friction or noise?
