Boundary Waters Canoe Area - BWCA | Planning a trip
A video describing our challenges in planning a Boundary Waters Canoe trip. Our trip lasted 4 days and we planned a base camp style trip. Since it was our first time in the Boundary Waters we wanted to see how fast we could canoe, set up camp and portage before we planned a trip involving travel.
First night we stayed in Grand Marais and connected with our outfitter 'way of the wilderness'. There we rented canoes, paddles and purchased our permit. We had a great time on this trip and we will definitely come back next year.

The photo of the clouds catching the light of the setting sun is a keeper. You must have been at peace our there. I'm in Florida and wish we had places like that.

I’ve wanted to go there since I was a kid and hope to take my son there. I like the base camp idea especially while he’s younger. He just turned 10.
Well done slide show guys. Beautiful country. Food looked good, but where's the Walleye shore dinner. If you continue your trips, think Kevlar, your back will thank you.

Mea Woodsman This year we plan to travel a bit more and cross more portages so Kevlar is definitely something we will use.

You will appreciate Kevlar! Just an FYI though...they shouldn't touch rocks so it's "wet foot Landings". And think about going deeper into the wilderness too.

We went up the first weekend in sept 2014 so labor day weekend.

+Lost On Land Again I had an amazing trip in late June but beware the mosquitos in the deep woods will eat you Alive! Make sure to bring 100 percent deet.

+Lost On Land Again Highs were the second to last day when the clouds finally broke and it was really nice out. We didnt experience much bugs and for that reason I think we will stick to going in September. Lows would probably just be the rain but there wasnt much lows, we had a great time.
