Bounce Lighting
In this tutorial, Peter was playing around with bounce lighting and modifying it with V-flats. As Bec was limited in being able to move much with her posing, she tried playing around with different scenarios in her head to change her expressions.

Every photographer needs a Bec to make him look good! She also has a great sense of humor.
Bec is becoming more and more the kind of model we all want our models to be like, she's so aware of how she'll look in camera when she does this or that, and she's so joyfull. It's so awesome to be able to work the light and the composition the way you want without needing to think about guiding your model for every single shot 🤩
More Bec! There can never be enough, lol. Awesome work, both of you!
Bec is such a natural. Can take a 1,000 pics of her and they all look stunning but different.
LOVE BEC !!
Good refresher course on Portrait. Awesome to see Bec and Peter again. Many thanks on editing tips also!!

What a muse! One of the most photogenic women on the planet. Bec gives good face! Chapeau!
Bec is such a stunning model, I always love when you two work together. Pushing for something better, and confident enough to tell us you didn’t like the mouth breather 🤣
Peter is a genius with lighting. I love how you use subtle changes in the lighting that really make a huge difference in how the photo comes out. Brilliant!

It’s amazing how much a hair light can take a nice looking photo and make it pop so much more and give it a timeless sort of look, and then adding the neg/pos fills really shaped it out nicely.
Bec always brings the best!
Just Noticed the 4K playback option!! as if there was anything else to be desired from these videos! really loved the bright wash contrast from these you guys! the best as always..
Bec is da best😊
I'm never keen on a white background but Bec's just nailed it... I think Peter helped 🙂

Great video once again. Lessons learned, the eyes, you have to catch the eyes. Thanks for that great video.
Is it me or did Bec have something of an orange glow to her skin, maybe a bronzer? Love to see more.

You've got an Adobe Creative Cloud Update! 👍🏻😄
Nice one! I have noticed that bounce light from the studio walls for color photography dont work as good as it works for b-w. I guess the white paints on studio or interior walls contain some kind of hues, that make the light much more dirty compared to good quality diffuser or bounce board.

I have never noticed any difference in colour
This has probably been answered before, but does Peter have a t-shirt printer in the back? How does he seem to have a different custom t-shirt based off a photograph he's taken every video?
That's an advantage I don't hear people often mention with black and white photography. You don't have to worry about color shifts from bounce lights hitting different surfaces in the room, even though most in his is neutral. Also things like fluorescent overheads wouldn't do much if they managed to make it into the exposure. Is there more to it than this? Would different color shifted or mixed light source types (incandescent, fluorescent, sun, etc) create ugly texture on skin tone in B+W?

I do this lighting with clients in colour without any problems
Peter, for a beginner building a small studio space in their house or garage, would you recommend flash or constant led light. For the purpose of cost let's plan on $2000 USD. Not doing anything commercially but merely fun. Shooting people mostly maybe some products for friends who are makers. Not really looking for a business. I know from watching you, v flats will be a part of the solution. For your information I use Canon R6 MK Ii bodies.

In case Peter doesn't see this...flash gives you more control, and more light for the price and size of the unit. Also less electricity cost than constant light. Constant light is essential for videography however.
Can we see these as portrait as I feel they will be so much better..

@@PeterCoulsonPhotographer is it snowing or just below 15 celcius centigrade ? (never been to Australia, don't know how winter look like there)
only one nit. kind of nothing for probably most people but for me..... when you moved the v-flat in, and it scraped/squeaked across the floor, i nearly jumped out of my skin. uhhhhhh. its as bad (or worse!) than fingernails on a blackboard to me. sorry. nothing about the SHOOT, just that sound. i almost quit the video! great look and i loved the very distinctive look, both v-flats changed the light
Ahh, the Bounce Method, aka "How a cinematographer messes with directors and gaffers", by putting lights nowhere near the talents marks, and getting beautiful images,...
