Boulder Bro Starter Kit!
Hey everyone in this episode I quickly break down all you need to get started bouldering, and becoming a true Boulder Bro!
There isn't a ton you need as far as gear goes but bouldering is heavily dependant on community. The more the merrier I say! Who else is going to carry all the those pads....not me.

The list needs to be more comprehensive. It is the easiest part to buy a pair of shoes and a crash pad (or even two, if you are that guy from the Forbes list). As a new climber, my primary question was completely different. How do you find a boulder in those trees? How do we understand where that world-famous V3 is located on the boulder? Different maps show different routes with the same names. What are the "rules" outdoors? Can I touch a hold which is not marked on a map? Can I step on random footholds and consider it a V10 send? Is it okay to walk around the forest in climbing shoes? Is it worth washing the shoes after each climb? Why do some people never wash their shoes at all? What about ticks? What about poison ivy and nettle (thankfully, I had a friend who immediately noticed the ivy before I stepped right on it)? Snakes? Spiders? Where is the toilet? Why don't the holds have colors? Why the boulder from last year wasn't reset this year? Do I must climb shirtless or is it optional? Lots and lots of unanswered questions in this video. We need another one!

Lmao luckily I simplified that all for you… find the guy with the beat shoes..he will show you the ways. Every way is different, I don’t know them all but the guy in your local gym will know ask him. 🤣

Thought you'd include a battery operated fan to use between sends and antihydral. Also, a t-shirt that you wear to the crag, but remove right before you record your send. Lastly, inordinate amounts of chalk to ensure that the back of your hand, wrists, and forearms are densely covered. Then you're truly a "boulder bro."

Is that Obe's gym? Andy Salo still bouldering in the Gunks these days? My claim to fame is I once caught Chris Sharma in Fontainebleau and set him gently on the ground. He said "Whoa man, that's the best spot I ever had..." 😂
