Bottom Bounce Walleye on Nightcrawlers

Спорт

Today we're out on Lake Erie trolling for walleye. We're using the SP1 Viper Spoons rigged with nice juicy nightcrawlers along with the pre-tied drift rig with a 5oz sinker snapped on. We're trolling at about 1.5 to 1.8 miles per hour and trolling in an s-pattern. This s-pattern lets the lures change speed and depth as the boat makes it bend. Giving that spoon that extra edge needed to get that hit.

The last time I was on Lake Erie was Maumee Bay and the shore was knee deep in muck. It was in the early 60's. Nice to see a whole different Lake Erie. Nice walleye too!

Hi there I’m headed out to Lake Erie on Monday for the first time. I fish Georgian bay a lot for walleye and do well. Can you tell me where you launch from? Eastern, central or western basin? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Hi Saro - Eastern Basin - launch out of Crystal Beach or Port Colborne - both areas have great launch ramps and good fishing - good luck :)

@@thundermistlures I saw it happen years ago as a kid fishing with my grandfather. Guys were filming a popular Canadian fishing show many of us know. I won't name names but they did indeed take fish from the LiveWell, hook them, place in the water, turn on the cameras and pretend to be catching them. I trust thundermist is not using this practice and it was just a slip up saying "back" in the LiveWell. That moment never sat well with me then and it still doesn't now

I'd like to see you guys make more of a selective harvest. Dredging walleye up indiscriminately from 60 plus feet is a bit irresponsible. Other than the fact that you routinely keep fish that I would have been compelled to put back I enjoy your content.

Just in your 1 comment you complained about 3 different things, than say "I enjoy your content". lol. you should be compelled to not leave your negative opinions.

@@falasteeny2745 I think if you're going to hold yourself forward as an ambassador of the sport you should be a responsible one. The amount of barotrauma inflicted on a walleye brought up from that depth will kill most you catch regardless if you want to keep it or not. It completely rules out selective harvest and is very poor practice. I'm sure the boys can recover from a bit of productive criticism. There's a difference between being a fan and a fan girl my friend.
