Interesting - this video consisted of patients who should be seeing psychiatrists, not plastic surgeons. I don't understand why this industry isn't regulated.

Its not regulated, because untrained individuals, with no training or knowledge in plastic surgery, just an MD degree in any area, can now legally hang out a shingle, perform unlimited experimental procedures on unstable individuals with body dysmorphia while raking in tons of ez cash!!

Watching botched is a good show to watch when you feel insecure or unsure of your own looks. It gives a good example of how too much of good body features can look weird, and its a way to remind us that a lot of these people are normal, healthy people who were probably average looking until they started surgery. Celebs get plastic surgery all the time, no matter how beautiful someone is there's always some weird beauty standard that everyone wants to achieve and the goal is finding the one you want.
1. What do they have against being able to breathe? 2. What do they have against not having back pain? I have Hs, and I'm in so much pain all the time. But insurance won't cover reduction surgery. 3. Could they perhaps be addicted to the anaesthesia? 4. Anime girl's mom looks younger than post-surgery anime girl

There is a way to get insurance to cover a breast reduction. You can go talk to your primary care doctor and tel, them how much pain you’re in. If it’s constant or at least consistent, they’ll send you to a pain specialist. The pain specialist should be able to confirm the cause of the pain and tell your insurance that a breast reduction is medically necessary.

I'm not anti-surgery at all, heck, I had a nose job. I love the result. But this? This still terrifies me. Who has a grocery list of procedures?? And anime girl could have just invested in costume making, makeup, and Nihongo classes if she really wanted to be legit.

These people treat plastic surgery as a hobby and it’s wild to me. Someone should give them a good book or something. For me the issue isn’t necessarily them wanting to change a body part, but it’s about the extreme risk they put themselves in. A lot of plastic surgery is still very dangerous (like bbls- they have 1 of the highest mortality rates of any surgery). They treat it like it’s fun but they’re putting themselves in very dangerous situations. They need to be reminded, (just like the one doctor did with the anime girl) that all of these operations can kill you and you’re putting yourself at risk by having so many surgeries.
"Its my passion, its what makes me happy, its my reason to live"....... A grounding in reality is what you need- how unbelievably selfserving and shallow!

Indeed, I think that way as well. In my case, after years of psychotherapy, I think I’m ready to do something for my face now I’m about to turn 41 and have the maturity to not make a mess with it. The thing is being a depressive person and on meds ad aeternum, I’d like to be a bit more satisfied with the looks on my mirror in the cloudy blue mornings, when prettier, somehow enhanced looks would help me recover that bit of self confidence that makes a difference. It’s for myself. Otherwise, products would be enough, right? Sometimes they just aren’t.
