I’m a diabetic. Some years ago, my doctor recommended Byeta. I took it and it completely took away my appetite. I instantly lost 25 lbs. and my blood sugar was lowered considerably. Then I started having stomach pains and read that it could cause pancreatitis. I asked my doctor and he said, “well, every one is different.” He didn’t care and wanted me to stay on it. I didn’t listen to him and stopped taking it. Now it’s banned because it’s too dangerous. I see this happening down the line with Ozempic. BEWARE!

I used Ozempic as a Type 2 diabetic for 5 years. It kept my BS within normal range. Yet, because it forces the pancreas to make more and more insulin to control the BS, the body becomes more and more insulin resistant, requiring ever larger doses over the years. I am now in the process of trying to put the diabetes into remission naturally, through the use of a Ketogenic diet, and intermittent fasting. A low carb diet is always part of a diabetic, along with some fasting because we need to eat our last meal by 6:00 pm or so, in order to keep dawn phenomena down as much as possible. I eat breakfast sometime after 7:00 am and finish lunch before 1:00 pm. I then fast from 1:00pm - 7:00 am the next morning. BS has come down to an average in the 80s and dawn phenomena is very little.

Hi DKaeewing. I follow Dr. Boz (Dr. Annette Bosworth), Dr. Jason Fung, and Dr. Mindy Pelz here on KZread. They all have great videos. Dr. Fung is where I started, then I found Dr. Pelz. I finally landed on Dr. Boz because her explanations were the easiest for me to understand and follow. They all recommend a Keto lifestyle, and intermittent fasting. It isn't a diet you can turn off and on--must become a lifestyle, and I will say it--it is difficult. You can have pretty good BS numbers with a lower carb lifestyle, without doing the keto lifestyle. It must be a desire for something more and for a healing in your body to cause one to pursue this lifestyle. It is difficult and I have only just begun. At least once a day I think about eating something full of carbs. I was addicted to carbs, and it may take some time to heal that longing.

I have bone to bone arthritis in my hip. I was 320 pds 5'8'. I changed health insurance because I wasn't getting the help. I needed help with my hip, got all new docs, primary and ortho doc was all in to help me get a hip replacement. I was put on Ozempic but that taught me well on how to use and change my way of eating. Been on it since end of September down 30 pds, have never been under 300 in the last 10 years. Ozempic has been a lifesaver for me. It not only suppressed my appetite, it help me to have a different relationship with food period. I eat very well, salads, salmon, but I'm cautious because I cant eat a whole plate of food. I have never been a drinker, I completely stop soda, I drink, water, green tea, I do eat jello, yogurt. I make my own salad dressings. The smell of fried food makes me nauseous. It's the best and most important relationship I've ever had! 🤗🤭 And I'm happier. I decided not to tell family or friends my secret, because I don't want to be sabotaged.

I think it’s important to identify the weight loss drug correctly. It is semaglutide. It is in Wegovy (the weight loss drug) and Ozempic (for type 2 diabetes). People are taking ozempic for weight loss because there is/was a manufacturing issue with the injection mechanism. I’ve been on it for 9 months and have lost 45 lbs. the biggest side effect is nausea. It’s no joke.

I’m on Ozempic because I was pre-diabetic and glucose resistant. I’m 5’3 and I was about 235 to 240 pounds when I started taking it November of 2022. As well as starting tennis for my cardio. I’m currently down 54 pounds. And I can tell you the side effects aren’t the best. I’ve experienced tiredness, foggy vision, back pain, nausea on a thousand. Also headaches from dehydration. So now I add pedilyte, coconut water or Gatorade to my water to keep me hydrated. I’m happy with the results and feeling confident again on how I look, feels amazing😢. Not always, especially if you have comorbid conditions along with your diabetes. I have transplant-induced diabetes so that is absolutely true for me, but it's not for everyone. I can eat for days and stay in shape; my medication keeps my blood sugar in check, which is out of whack regardless of my diet (I'm vegan, don't drink, and produce most of my own groceries.) To use an overused phrase, check your privilege. Not everyone has health issues due to lifestyle choices.

Hi many thanks for the informative video - I have just recently been diagnosed with Type 2 diabetas obviously due to me being overweight - I have asked about Ozempic to help with my weight loss journey - I am in the UK & have been informed by my GP that I do not fit the critera !!! Well don't know what to reply to that I thought I was an ideal candidate - The drug is in high demand in the UK & the medical teams are being selective to whom they prescribe it to - I have approached a specialist doctor & are currently paying private for my care - Wish Dr Nassif & Dr Dubrow were in the UK their expertise would be priceless

I love ozempic. Its the best thing pharma has made imo The sad part is, the reason why it works so well is because the drug is actually putting our bodies back on track as they should be in the first place! We consume way too much food in america! Which i honestly think they put stuff in the food that makes us always hungry! The food in America is horrible! Everything is processed, loaded with fat/sugar etc...lab made . Pumped with hormones ....just junk! Thats why normal dieting and exercising doesnt work well much anymore for most ppl Because the food we consume is the very poison thats killing us!! On ozempic i feel as a child again. Lol I only want to eat when hungry. When i do eat i eat jus enough to be full. I dont really crave bad foods. I do sometimes and when i do, i eat a pizza or icecream..and i can only eat a lil bit then its not that appeasing to me And the best part, i didnt gain weight from splurging a little! 🙌 This is how our bodies should be. I eat the same portions as my toddler basically lol And i can eat as i want. The side effects do suck for the first couple of months when u start, i will admit that It was horrible. Lol But its so refreshing feeling normal and not always chasing after some "diet"........that never really works or lasts 😊
