Botanical expedition to the Reserva de Producción de Fauna #cuyabeno
A team of botanists from the French National Research Institute for Sustainable Development (en.ird.fr/) and the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Ecuador undertook a 2 week exploration of the Reserva de Producción de Fauna #Cuyabeno Ecuadorian Amazon.
We visited two areas: #Lagartococha, near the border with Peru, and #Zancudococha, a large inner lake near the #Aguarico river.
The main objective was to collect and document plants in these little explored regions. We were mainly collecting #Annonaceae and #palms. The trip took place in March 2023.
