You can buy a CharlieCard for a monthly pass at a fare vending machine at almost all subway stations. Here is the full rundown: www.mbta.com/fares/charliecard Hope that helps!

​@@BreakingDownBoston the contactless payment system (AFC 2.0) is scheduled to roll out publicly for all T lines and buses this summer, tentatively July/August :) the readers are indeed placed at the turnstiles for the subway lines. for the surface-level portions of the green line and buses, the readers will also be available at *all* doors! im personally very very excited for the easier payments and the faster boarding, should reduce dwell times a lot on busy routes (like route 1).
