Did you know the Bosslaser Fiber Laser Marker can also be used to remove rust off of metal? It's called laser ablation. It's the process of removing material from a solid by irradiating it with a laser beam.
In this video we took some old hand tools that had some rust on it and cleaned if off on our FMD Fiber Laser Marker. Our settings were at 300mm/second and 50% power. After just two passes, much of the rust that was there we were able to remove.
