Black pistes are known for being steep, technical and icy. Bosses in les Arcs is one of the shortest black runs in the world so how hard must it be to be classified black over such a short space?

The way to ski a trail, like that, which, by the way, is probably not even a black diamond trail, is to make very short turns on the left side or the right side of the trail and stay out of the middle.

@@sessionmediaa Oh yeah, narrow, icy, double fall lines, the works. Conditions in this vid would actually be good for a lot of northeast trails… no bare spots, lol! Depends on where you go, of course. And to be fair, those are mostly double diamonds that barely qualify as on piste, although they technically are. My favorite is Stowe in Vermont. Upper Goat at Stowe is well known for being one of the hardest trails in the east, with a double fall line that often restricts you to a single skiable, very steep line that is almost always icy; and Bypass, while lesser known, is very narrow, I’d say 4-5 meters, followed by a wider but extremely steep pitch. I know Jay Peak has similar expert terrain, and Mad River Glen takes it to the next level of crazy. I’ve never been to either of those (both also in Vermont), but I hope to go sometime.

@@sessionmediaa Not gonna lie, the snow here sucks an awful lot of the time, but there’s plenty of adrenaline-inducing terrain!

Nathan is right. My dad skied east coast all the time growing up and attested to the fact that it is pure ice. You can still get good conditions there sometimes, but they have a reputation for being icy and challenging!

Awesome! It’s such a good resort. One of my favourite things there is that even when the weather is bad and the light is flat, there are loads of tree runs that you can always go to for good conditions.

Drama! I have skied that run many times.. it's not a big deal! Piste 21 (Red) in Zell am See in March is a bigger challenge.

L O L! Do you think this is narrow? Really? I think you should’ve skied the goat trail at Stowe Vermont about 50 years ago before they wind it. It was probably about 12 feet wide and 35°.

I really see no difference between the blue diamond run you were doing and this so called black diamond run. "Narrowest Black in the World", not so much.

Steepest, narrowest, biggest, highest, longest, in France, in Europe, in the world, on south side of Tarentaise valley… Can’t you just enjoy something without setting hierarchy, rating and compare what would be wether better or not as good as. Grade is a strange way to describe and transmit passion. Try not to write a cv on your skis, you shall enjoy

This is a green at most other resorts. It’s not narrow. It doesn’t look difficult. This is some weak ass shit.
