BOSS GX-100 All Of The Amps.

Музыка

In this video, I demo all of the amp models on the Boss GX-100.
Here is what Boss says about the GX-100.
Fusing advanced BOSS tone technologies into a sleek, ultra-modern hardware design, the inspiring GX-100 delivers top-level performance everywhere you play. Explore 23 AIRD amplifiers and over 150 effects derived from the flagship GT-1000, and craft great sounds in seconds with the intuitive color touch display. Up to 15 simultaneous effect blocks provide unlimited tone possibilities, coupled with deep real-time command via onboard footswitches, an expression pedal, and external control support.
The Studio Rats are core band members Paul Drew on guitar/production/mixing, drummer James Ivey and Dan Hawkins on bass. They collaborate with singers and musicians to produce radio-ready songs.

I've had helix, headrush, kemper, axefx etc and honestly I never considered a boss unit. I tried my friends out and couldn't believe how easy I got the sound I wanted. Fancy names of amps and pictures of the amps don't mean a thing... this thing is the real deal. just use your ears.

Thank you for your thoughts Paul.Always a pleasure if you share your point of view. For me i overall love the feel of this unit playing wise. I tried a lot of stuff. But no other digital unit gives me the impression , that im immediately connected to the notes i am playing, as soon as i dig in - if that makes sense. First time im satisfied feelingwise with a digital unit. I think this piece of gear is a nobrainer....not only at this price point. And this is for me at least the mainreason what sets it apart from Helix, Neural DSP etc.

I've been using it for a year and a half with my function band, and it has a great tone in every venue we play. I particularly like slightly overdriven sounds. They sound so natural and are very dynamic, very inspiring to play. Not to mention the unit is compact, much smaller than my old gt-10 that I used for years prior. I wish gx-100 existed a decade ago, it would've made me a better player, for sure.

In the review from Anderton’s, they mentioned that there was no 5150 model. Listening to this review, I’m not missing it. It’s 16 February, 2024 as I comment, and I might grab one of these today. If I do, i’m just stoked to try my hand at emulating the mid-boosted, compressed electric guitar tone created by Tom Scholz of Boston in the late 70s. I’ve been using a different Japanese-manufactured stomp box to get that tone (the Goat Generator from Rancher). I like it, but it’s a little bit “out of control” (white noise if you lower your guitar volume like Tom Scholz, Brian May and Terry Kath for cleaning up, and it is occasionally too trebly). Also taking into account that it’s got an external expression pedal input, it would also be neat to make an attempt at emulating a different Boston device, the Hyperspace pedal. That particular device involves controlling an echoplex’ feedback and delay time in realtime.

Can we run signal from gx100 from lef output with cab SIM ,,on ,,to mixer and right output without cab SIM to power amp with 2x12 cab. Don't see a option in output settings to do that, Only output settings for, mixer, recording, katana, jc120, and tube amps, boss is strange compared to other units , nice chops, bought your pack for gx100 and sounds perfect, thanks but I think I will return gx100 back to shop, my £235 valeton gp200 got better heavy rhythm amp sounds overall, and I can choose output with cab SIM on one output and without on another output. Effect is amazing on boss units , but amp simulation not really good for heavy stuff

I want to like this unit, but I just don’t think it’s gonna work for me. The lack of XLR outputs makes it a bit tough to use as a standalone gigging unit. If they come out with a full flagship GX-1000 or a pedalboard friendly GX Core, I’ll be seriously looking at either of those.

Even with the GT100 it was already possible to mix two amps in parallel togehter. That seems to be a Boss standard feature..

Hello! I’m having one issue. I just got the GX-100 and so far the only issue I’m having is that I feel like there is a sound gate on that’s to sensitive? My sustain just cuts right off and I’m using two core PRS’s 594 and a custom 24-08 core. My Kirt Hammet Ltd 602 even cuts right off. So what setting needs to changed because I don’t see a sound gate in any of the presets. Hope it’s ok that I asked you. Playing through a PRS HDRX 20 into a 2x12 Marshall …Thanks James

Did you ever figure out your issue? The only thing I can think of is your input gain may need to be raised or your output setting may need to be changed. If there isn't a noise gate, I'm not sure what else could affect your signal. Maybe the expression pedal is set low?

I think there is something wrong with the software on mine , The Marshall plexi model sounds awful shrill and piercing like fingers down a blackboard, yet the tweed model sounds fantastic like a Marshall 🤷🏻‍♂️

Hey Paul, great playing and great tones. Wonderful description of the amps in this unit. I plan to pick mine up this week. I love your strat too, beautiful 🤩. Sounds like some great fusion sounds in there like Tom Quayle’s sound. Are you running this directly into your DAW?

Ok so I wanna buy this unit but I'm computer illiterate lol I realize though you're using one here and I also realize that's the speakers for said computer that you're using right?? Well seeing how I get all that what I didn't understand is how does the program work on your computer? Is it something you can download after you buy the unit? And what speakers do you use? I mean I really don't understand the whole"other" side of it. Can anyone explain it to me where I can understand?
