    Paul. Another Great Video. Love it! Indeed, I want this patch. I’ve set up a Tube Screamer mini in front of my CORE for additional gain staging and a BOSS FS-7 in CTL 2/3 to assign on-off switches to different effects . Thank you so much for all your informative videos.

    @@TheStudioRats I bought it's bigger brother some 3 months ago, I just wanted it for effects to complement, my Mesa TC50. Good God, that rig is just stellar now. Had some problems setting it up (out level to low, global EQ...). But now it's just a killer. And should I not be able to take the whole setup to the gig, I can use the units Amp sims... And lets not forget the Bluetooth feature, no more praying position in front of the pedal, just take you phone and edit away...

    Hey Paul, great video! How will using Dual amps setting affect a live situation going stereo direct though a PA system where the speakers are far apart? Should the Sound Man still spread far Left & right at 100%, or in your experience should it be more closer like 10 o'clock to 2 o'clock? Thanks for doing such a great job!

    Hello, dear Paul! You make very useful, interesting and high-quality videos. I am especially interested in the Boss GT1000. I tried your patches, they are good! At home in headphones or via hi-fi. But! Arriving at the studio, there was a crash! My Boss sounds like a squeaky, itchy poo in the line! Can you teach me how to set up the sound in the studio for rehearsal, at high volume? How to deal with delay and reverb?

    Hey Paul, I just picked up a gt1000core and I replicated everything you mentioned in your tone, but it still sounds too crunchy. It's almost as if there's a clean output bleeding through. Are there any settings I need to look at out of the box to make sure i'm not outputting a dry signal? I'm running through a focusrite scarlet solo into a DAW. It just sounds like it's missing half of the gain and there's absolutely no dynamics. It just sounds flat!

    @@TheStudioRats it sounds great as a crunch, but there's absolutely no dynamics or sustain. Pinch harmonics dont come through, and even with the boosted gain it sounds like it's missing half the gain needed and just falls flat. I've tried three guitars for reference. Im puzzled if I need to correct any output settings or i have a defective unit, or this pedal simply isn't made for high gain leads. Even on the high gain X amps set to full gain, it sounds like a low gain crunch.

    Have you connected the GT1000 Core through USB to the computer? If so, I think through one of the USB channels, there will be a dry track recorded which can be used for re-amping. If so, see whether there are multiple tracks being recorded in your DAW, then it will be just a matter of muting or deleting the USB track. If there is only one track being recorded and the GT1K Core is not connected to the computer, then I am at a loss my friend. Hope the issue will be fixed!

    Ducking is where the input signal amplitude is used to modulate the effect level. Stronger input lessens the delay or reverb making notes clearer as you play while pauses bring on the delay/reverb. Awesome feature to have and is on most high end units.

    Honestly, all modelers do have a digital edge, ALL of them. Nothing sounds and feels like a tube amp but an actual tube amp regardless of what modeler fan boys say. So if it is a tube sound you want, then a tube amp is what you get (though a modeler through a tube amp helps). That said, modelers produce great tones in their own right and are best approached for what they are - digital processors that can give you a lot of tonal flexibility while mimicking a bit of the characteristics of traditional amps; no more, no less. I’ve gigged with tubes, solid state, and digital and have gotten great tones. My tube amps are my preference but I am becoming more interested in a streamlined set up.

  • @marctamtonthat

    I just accept that they all do to a greater or lesser extent and that some do better than others in certain areas. Helix is another great unit and, IMHO is not by any means vastly outpaced by it’s competitors like Kemper or Fractal. I actually think it is quickly getting to the point that seeing somebody playing a tube amp will be like seeing some old dude cruising in his ‘57 Chevy Bel Air. It’s a good time to be a guitarist, lots of great gear out there

  • @marctamtonthat

    @marctamtonthat

    I’m just giving my personal opinion on this boss unit. It sounds more digital than helix or HX stomp which isn’t perfect. I also have a tube amp (Victory Countess V30) so I have a reference. Don’t worry for that. Boss isn’t good at modeling distorsion imho.
