It's so refreshing to hear a gear demo that doesn't just feature generic blues licks

i've never understood it. why does everybody play the same way? where did everyone learn that style as their default?
Great demo! I like that glitchy sound it makes when you play over the feedback at 2:08 and 3:35. I want to hear how that sounds with wah or phaser or delay or ALL OF THEM AT THE SAME TIME.
All playing and zero talktalk talking. Wish more gear demo channels were like this one. You can really jam, too.
Just got one of these off ebay and I think it might be my new favourite pedal. Really wish Boss would re-issue it, maybe as a Waza Craft with some extra mods/features.

Django67 my thoughts exactly
Definitely one of my favorite Boss pedals. It's just a good all-purpose distortion with that fun feedbacker effect. From blues to metal, it gets the job done with a good ballsy rich tone and a nice eq on it. But if you want even more versatility with similar tones (but no feedbacker) I would recommend the SD-2 Dual Overdrive pedal. That one is just phenomenal for all around versatility and lovely overdrive and distortion tones.
Dude your demo is actually amazing
I like the way the red light pulses when you use the feedback mode!
Great demo! That synthy sound at 2:07 is really cool.

@@rickleblanc8900 okay don't know exactly what we're talking about but that's okay. Yeah on my it's actually the super distortion and feedbacker if it and I noticed when it showed up it doesn't have a battery wire terminal, the connection to the 9 volt. None! Guess I'll have to plug it up to a adapter
@rickleblanc8900
5 жыл бұрын
@@lanayajordyn9950 yes exactly. Sucks that there's no wire to connect the battery. You got it used? His pedal was not malfunctioning, though. Step on it for distortion, hold your foot on it to get the feedback. Take foot off and distortion stays. Step on it again to deactivate pedal and go clean. I assumed he bought it really cheap cause the seller wasn't really sure how to use it properly. This video demonstrates it really well. Hope yours works fine ! Cheers
Great demo, killer riffs!
My own DF-2 is still running fine, I think I had it around 89 or 90 so it's been just around 25 years and I'm keeping it!

The Best demo of the Boss DF - 2 !
Wooooow....just discovered this pedal today! Getting one from Japan! Thanks!
im convinced...ill buy it
2:08 somehow, not a single other person demoing this pedal on youtube thought to do this. i can see everyone else was shocked as well since it's the most watched part o the video. but it's definitely more interesting than just leaving it on a single note. i'd been wondering what happened if you started playing new notes once the feedbacker was active
Hi, Thank you for this good demo. Simple but much helpful. I could easily understand this pedal's capability and decided to buy second hands somewhere in Tokyo. Best regards. From KOJI The Planet Stoned , Tokyo Japan.
Sounds killer!! I do really like the hold function on the Boss Feedback and Harmoniser pedals, it's far more convenient than an expression pedal format like the new Fender Feedbacker.
Wow! this sounds amazing!
Awesome pedal ! The sample & hold fonction IS really cool ! I want it !
Cool vid, I really need to dig this pedal out again and play around with it.
I really like your playing...congratulations man! DF2 is nice too, some kind of DS1 more brutal
I got mine in the mid eighties. Never sold it>. I rarely use it now. I've got an OCD. But this distorsion is great, very dirt. The feedbacker is funny...never know the sound that will be done!!!!!
First guy to set the tone and distortion knobs correctly. I think he's overdriving the input of his amp, though. Play it at unity on a clean channel and it's immense.
just what i Need for Mayhem & Marduk tone
can you do radio friendly unit shifter on this??
great demo mate
Awesome riff at 3:35!!! Rock on,man!
These are cool sounding
Sounds like Converge. Awesome demo, nice work. I have this pedal I got years ago. Subbed.

hi,which has more gain? this or boss ds2?
the small intro bit is super cool tho!
Nice demo dude. You should be in a band where you get to play more like you do in your vids cos your playing/writing is endlessly tasty, interesting, and unique, with and without distortion/effects.
I was just searching for this pedal on eBay this morning. What a coincidence.
Just perfect for my synths

Nice demo. Opeth, dream theater? I posess the japanese version of 1988. great dsitorsion. But you're right not to go over 12 for the tone knob....it's too much trash!!!
holy shit!!!
This pedal has been being made since 1984, do you know what year yours is? Thanks
Actually, what DO you do with all these pedals? I know you have a lot but have you kept them all?
We said this to dennis many times... maybe Dennis is happy with his band - sometimes band members are your best friends or kindly brothers and sisters and life is too short to be around wankers however good they are !!!
I bought one when they first came out. Took it home, played it the second, and haven't touched it since ;-) Maybe it was ahead of its time......or just awful. Not sure which.

Are the sounds at the very beginning from the pedal?
find one at craiglist for $35 buck's made in japan
I absolutely agree with Convisis, Kayzer I know what I am about to say sounds bad but its a compliment believe me, the band you currently play in... is not good, your talent is completely unused, the band sounds very generic, its just average metal with typical screaming on top of it. The riffs you create with delay, fuzz etc. effects are really weird and awesome, they sound "new". In my taste you are kinda like a heavier/more brutal version of "Tool".
I tis Japan pedal?
The feedback is not in harmony with the chord... its always so??

I actually really like the DF-2 as a distortion pedal. the feedback, however? It's a fun toy to play around with... that's about it. Unless you're an 'edgy' 13 year old with dreams of making it big with your 'revolutionary' and 'innovative' post-noisecore guitar abuse that sounds like someone lobotomized sonic youth and then gave them their guitars back... ...Too much? Well, that's what I think of the feedbacker. It's a good distortion pedal, though.
