War in Yugoslavio was much more complex, then any of you can understand properly, first there is a huge chance that sniper was not Serbian in first place but from Bosnian paramilitary(some Bosnian war criminal said so) why would Bosnian do that well it creates good propaganda on already satanised serbs, 2nd most times regular army of Yugoslavia todays Serbia did not commit crimes more then any other unit in the war, problem is that Serbian paramilitary were rly ruthless in what they wanted to do, was serbia stoping them from doing their shit, no and that is the problem.

@@mybluebelly well if you were to look at some of the work they did, mabye.Most certainly they offered a semblance of order to the region even if it wasn't the best which mostly had to do with the large amount of regulations placed on them. My point however is that it doesn't really matter who's participating. Two groupshated eachother and lives were going to be lost. So whether the u.n. getting involved didnt really save alot of ppl,but more so prevented the war from getting out of control and going full genocide between groups.

The purpose is to be seen. Thus the name "Peacekeeper." The Blue Helmets aren't supposed to fight. They are a neutral army made of doctors, engineers etc who are supposed to help the civilian population, and not fight along one side. This is why they wore blue helmets and white vehicles, to be seen. Easy targets you will tell me, but what kind of people are going to shoot at an "army" made of men who want to help your population. *This is a comment made by someone in this section who explained it wonderfully.*

the dead soldier was from the 21 rima which is a marine infentry unit (unless I am mistaken he was in this unit)
