Just got my mom one for mother's day. She loves it!

Bose's build quality is A+. The bass sounded super clean on the first song. When you were adjusting the EQ I could hear the difference clearly. Excellent review, as always! May have to pick this up for a Father's day present for my Dad.

ik i will! i also have the Bose SoundLink Flex in blue, had it for about 2 years now and it's a great traveling speaker, especially with the carabiner clip!

your reviews really help to assist in purchases. I got the Bose Flex on the strength of your recommendation. I was not disappointed! Your videos are excellent Flossy!!!

I hate it when some feature is missing. If a product is half-baked it shouldn't be released, especially high-end pay to play stuff. I like the build so much that I'll grab this when that feature is out and by then with a discount.

Hi I have 2 Bose soundlink flex and I'm considering this speaker, but I'm wondering if my 2 Bose Flex paired together In stereo mode will sound louder and have better sound quality in general than this new speaker? Because if together they sound better it's pointless to buy this,but if soundlink max is better 2 flex I would prefer 1 speakers instead of 2 of them. Can you tell me your opinion? Thank you.

Hey Floss, thank you for this review, I’ve been waiting for this. I’m a JBL fan, I recently purchased the JBL xtreme 4. I’m disappointed that the JBL lost this battle,however please can you confirm if the JBL was plugged in? I know you can’t plug it in at the beach but I’d like to see how JBL compares at max performance. I’m tempted to get the Bose now!

Flossy thank you for another fantastic review. I have been wanting you to review this speaker because I am in the market to replace my Bose Soundlink III. I was thinking of the Soundlink Flex. But I was thinking that Bose may come out with an upgrade to the Soundlink Flex and here we are. I was disappointed that Bose did not include a microphone, but not a showstopper for me. But party mode, I agree, should have been available with the initial announcement. Keep rocking Flossy, you are the best.

Hello, thank you for bringing the reviewed Bose Soundlink Max. I hope you can compare it with the Klipsh Detroit and the Sound Motion x600. I am looking for the best portable sound to preferably watch movies. greeting

The Soundcore Boom 2 Plus will release on May 29th. It's gonna retail for $249.99. This is the predecessor to the Motion Boom Plus. I just wonder if whether or not people know about this. Definitely something to keep in mind when considering a Bluetooth speaker purchase.

Not very many people buy speakers because of backpack size. Most will buy for a great sound at a reasonable price. If it comes with a few extra pounds, then you'll deal with it. For me, it would be Tribit Storm Blast for $150. Extra weight on your back with extra weight in your pockets from savings!

Thanks for the awesome review. I bought one without watching reviews and I honestly can say comparing it in person next to the Marshall Middleton and JBL xtreme 4 that the max is in a class of its own. Definitely worth the $399 too. If you don’t believe me people go try one for yourself

Damn, I've never been a Bose fan because always felt the sound was too flat. This is the first speaker that caught my attention with that bass. I really like this build too. Just wanted to Floss to make a Floss Factor for the speaker of the year (also another request) 😂

Hell yea. I love Marshall speakers for the aesthetics to but I just bought this Bose and put it side by side with the Marshall Middleton and hands down it’s on a different level compared to Marshall and and speaker in its size class

Thanx for reveiwing the Max & compairing it to the some of the other major players. I planned on picking up the JBL EXT 4 until Bose Announced the Max. So I've been holding off until seeing your review. I knew you would be reviewing it ASAP. Based on your review I'm going to go with the EXT 4. I love bass but not to the detriment of clarety & clean nature meds. You stated the JBL was louder & more clear. And it sounded to me like it had more than enouph bass to make me happy. I listen to mostly jazz & voicals so the heavest of bass is not as important. I do have a question though. When you did the sound camparison, did you do it with all speakers set to their stock flat EQ or did you adjust the settings?compairing

Bose Soundlink MAX, how many Watts RMS? Most powerful than JBL Xtreme 4? Between the two, which one has the better sound performance in terms of musical dynamism between highs, mids and lows?

And after hearing the sound test I will say this particular speaker does have good bass and sounds cleaner

Flossy is the go-to certified speakerologist if you want to get the a speaker that is the most bang for your buck. As far as these two speakers go, I would go for the JBL to be honest - mostly because of the clarity. Rock on Floss

Bose swept all 3! That Bose sounds more solid to me. Like they used fiberglass inside. The others sound like hollow boxes. In my opinion

JBL Extreme clearly sounded better imo. Which means, the JBL Authentics 200 is the best option for at home speaker (would sound cleaner, louder, have a wider soundstage, and have way more bass than either). One thing I've realized about Bose is they are just decent products for the amount they cost. You pay a premium for their name and their signature clean design style. The price never equates to the sound quality level you should be getting at Bose's typical retail price. This Bose product is really a $200 speaker imo maybe $250 if being generous... $400 is absolutely crazy if you really care about getting the best sound quality for your dollar.

I just bought a max and trust me it is hands down better than anything in its class. I tested it next to these speakers flossy did his side by side comparison too and it’s definitely on a different level

I did a side by side test with the Marshall Middleton and jbl xtreme 4 and trust me it’s in a league way above these speakers. It is worth it at $399 maybe give it a try next time before you make a comment without owning one

Whats the frequency response? I cant find it ANYWHERE and its annoying. Whats the lowest note it can play clean-ish and at an audible level. Im hoping in bathrooms or room environments it would benefit from room gain.

Great video Flossy! I've been watching the reviews on the speaker. Honestly, I don't see what the big deal is about it not having a speakerphone? This is a speaker that you wanna jam to and not be interrupted by a phone call. I don't use my phone that much and hardly ever get calls, so it not having a speakerphone doesn't bother me. Party mode, I can see your point on that, but at least it's coming. I'm glad it has a 3.5mm jack and not just Bluetooth because you can plug in a MP3 player or a CD player or a Turntable. It's cool that it charges your phone. Not a must feature, but good to have.
