Very cool !! 👍I have several SD1's that I think I need to have you reprogram when I can get the funds together. I have 2 that work/sound great, love them but not sure the sound is quite as good as the mod you did here. My only concern with spending the money is being able to get them sold for enough to cover costs. 🙃 There are a lot of non-working ones flooding the marketplace & it would be great if there was a market for the updated ones, oldies but goodies to those who appreciate these.

There is still a faithful and significant strong following. We fix SoundDock boards almost every day for those that want to keep them alive. Bose coded is support for 24 bit 48Khz audio into the dock but it was never used on either the i pod or Bluetooth adaptor so I can guarantee that no one has experienced the clarity from a docked device. You can't hear it on KZread as it has been through a Samsung phone camera/mic and KZread rendering and then through the D/A in your listening device. It can only be experienced first hand. Nothing of that size on the market at the moment is anywhere near as good. You have to remember that the SD10 cost over £500 ten years ago....

@@razenby Regarding the SD 1, does the Bluetooth conversion for that speaker accomplish the same as for the SD 10 sound wise? Does installing the Bluetooth conversion eliminate the need to update the processor or is that still a requirement? I have a few that I've 'recapped' but probably need to have the processor updated. Here in the U.S., I'm not so sure if there is a market for repurposed original SD's, there are so many non-working units up for sale on ebay, but I was going try and see if there was. It would make for a nice niche if there is. I think the SD 1's used to sell for $250.00 new. Would you be willing to just update the processors only? Shipping is so expensive and I'm able to do the rest of the repairs just not the programming part. We spoke a while back about the T.I. processor coding being an issue.

How is the aux in port sound fed into the sd10 dsp? Does this mod sound any better than say feeding an aux cable from a standalone dac into the aux port on the sd10. Appreciate the wireless convenience of this adapter you’ve made. I’ve upgraded a couple old soundock 1 with your adapters a few years ago and they’re really effective! Thanks for helping keep these old docks alive. They all still sound excellent against any modern Bluetooth speakers etc! Plus they’re elegant looking too.

Aux port in A to D is a lower resolution and bit-rate. So yes, it odes sound better if you have a recording and source that can do it justice.

Depends what do you need repairing? I do videos and repairs one day a week . The rest of the time I am designing stuff. The people that have bought this far have been blown away by the sound.
