I have one and have used it in a few applications, tile being one of them. I find it really useful in flooring. Once you dry fit and figure out what corner your starting in the laser is handy for a straight & level start line.

I’m so cheap i would be tempted to buy some foam rubber and one of the hard plastic ammo boxes they sell at Harbor Freight. That would protect it for a fraction of the cost of a Pelican.

Self levels? Only it’s perfectly level itself. It can’t attach to the ladder rungs like some reviewers demonstrate. We must have a bad ladder. We can’t get a horizontal line up above where the laser level is sitting. Well what good is that? Someone please explain how do a get a horizontal line about a foot down from the ceiling?

This Lazer is amazing and I use it as a professional high-end remodeler. Almost every day. There is nothing is wrong with it. Stack thing up and then set your tripod on that or just the Lazer on top of little things for baseboard height (low heights)

@@FieldGuidetoDIY i think you need to show people how to use it with a tripod and keep it level. Using the bracket it comes with showing the step of actually leveling the Lazer first. Show how to do this high and low.

Is it magnetic? Can i attach it to metal?

Anderson, it is NOT magnetic as other self-leveling laser levels are. You can use the included mount or put it on a tripod. Thanks so much for watching. Please let me know if you have other questions or any suggestions.

The problem with this laser, it can not tilt. you always have to bring it to the same height as the horizontal line.

Very true. So if you want to cast a line to do a chevron pattern for example, this one would not work.

@@lalievigi7596 The GCL-2 with lock mode let you position it anyway you want. however, the idiots design the thing makes the laser blink in lock mode which annoy the heck out of me. Pretty much all the laser I could find in store bosch, dewalt you name it blinks in lock mode, probably shares the same shit logic board the idiot designed.

Mine just blinks acywr 5 seconds.

Is the Lazer supposed to flash?

The laser flashes while it calibrates. Once it is steady, it should stop flashing. Let me know if that helps.

I must be doing something wrong because I find this leveler does not work above the height of the tripod. So it has been pointless to me, it won't even get high enough for hanging a picture.

@@DZ-fx1vv you have to have it level. You can't angle it up. Set your tripod on top of a table or a box to get it up higher.

I bought it this week and immediately returning it for the same working height reason. I don’t have the time to rig up something higher than my tripod. I can use a measuring tape and a level at a fraction of the time to deal with this thing.

It is not calibrated. Turn it on and set it on a table to see if it will ever calibrate.

Why does my level indicate angles that are level after 4 seconds? Nothing is straight, only me.

I don’t know. I have not experienced that. I know it needs to sit perfectly still to calibrate.
