In the beginning it's a little bit difficult to understand what he's saying but, as the video goes on, you get used to it soon enough. I'm brazilian and very astonished with so many people from english countries complaining... as far as I can see, it's one of the most detailed, altough quick, practical explanations of this equipment.

I got one and only after a few use, the thing won't stop beeping. I'm close to smashing it.

The units of measure cannot be changed by just the + button as you showed. You have to press and hold trhe Func button until the speaker icon shows and then press Func to cycle to the units setting. Curiously, my unit doesn't offer Ft and inches... only metric units.

I want to buy a laser measure for real estate floorplans, can anybody suggest me should I go for GLM50c 50 meters one or should I get a higher model such as this 80m one?

Where, in the US, can we obtain repair services for the BOSCH GLM 80?

Had this but it soon stopped working after getting damp (not wet). Tried to dry it by opening the latches and putting it on the shelf by the radiator but it never recovered. It turned on or off by it's own will and drained the battery. After a while the screen was just a blank flimmer. It's a cheaply made instrument that is accurate but the build quality is just to bad to withstand any work at a construction site.

Two points: 1: The imperial measurements [Feet & inches] are unfortunately only specific to certain markets. A huge disappointment to any purchaser living or working in exile. Surely it would be a very simple matter to leave the imperial units option in the menu as a universal feature? The weight is quoted by the manufacturers as 140g not 14g. Otherwise an excellent video.

I watched this video again and again and while the information provided is good, it is almost impossible to comprehend what the narrator (Alan Holtham) is saying. He is talking too fast and his speech is not clear. This may be a good informational video but it needs work with the audio provided. (Almost unusable) hollidayp1 150517

There is a big problem with this video, and that is that the narrator is difficult to hear and comprehend. You need to get a person or narrator that speaks clearly and slowly and is not distorted. hollidayp1 150617
