I've been an appliance repair tech for 10 or 12 years don't even know anymore and I thought I was the only one who repairs PCBs. It is nice to see someone actually repair a PCB and give all the right information despite the fact that most people (even techs) will just replace.

Thank you my friend. I started with the service manual. I got the machine out of the cabinet, the door off and was ready to remove the sides per the manual's instructions to access and test the heater itself. Then i decided to do an internet search....just to see. Turns out the Bosch service manual is severely lacking when it comes to verifying the root cause. Hey Bosch..KISS.

Our SHE3ARF2UC/21 had the same kind of problem, almost. It was throwing an E:02 error which is a heater problem towards the end of the cycle and it wasn't heating the water so it wasn't drying well. It was NOT the overheated solder connection which is caused by the relay contact developing a high resistance connection due to pitting from arcing, so better to actually change the relay after you have verified the problem by resoldering the pin. But back to the other failure case. On our controller there was no issue with the solder connections on the relay, but the relay coil was open so the relay will not engage. For the 12V relay that our controller board uses the coil resistance should be about 400 ohms or so. And the heater relay was open (infinity). Replacing the relay got the DW working like new again. So keep in mind if you don't have the overheated solder connection problem then you should check the relay coil resistance to make sure that the coil is not open.

My dishwasher filled fine, but the sanitize light would not come on indicating that it did not reach 150° and the dishes would not fully dry. When I first looked at the board, I didn't notice breaks in the solder that were only an extremely faint ring around two posts with no corresponding burn marks or other signs of heat. Therefore, I bought a replacement Bosch heating element. So to save yourself the expense and effort of a much more involved (and fruitless) repair, be meticulous in your examination of your board. And I wish you good luck in all your repairs!

Great video! Thank you for making it. I have a Bosch SHU43C0x/22 showing the exact same problem. Just two quick question: 1) when the fix is done, is there a quick way to verify the fix rather than running through the 35-minute quick wash program? 2) If the heater relay itself is broken, do you know where I can buy one to replace it? Thank you again.

Unfortunately, I saw your video after a 1st repairman charged me $50 and said he couldn’t fix it. A 2nd repairman said the board was bad and ordered a new one. He charged me $235 for the new board and after labor and taxes my bill was $397.00! Total paid out $447.00!! He left the old board. After watching your video, I opened the case from the old board and identified the same issue when opening the board case. Even being technologically-challenged I believe I could have repaired the problem and saved just under a half a grand.

Thank you for the video. I have a thermador dishwasher and the water is not getting hot and getting an error 09. I took it apart thinking that its the Heat Pump. This was before I saw your video. Before I take apart the control panel I want to check if the heat pump is working. I'm getting no resistance Ohm reading between the two red terminals on the heat pump. I should be getting 15-30 ohms. Since I'm getting no resistance at all does that mean the heating pump is bad? If so can that be fixed or do I just replace the whole pump? thanks
