Used to live across from Borough Market as a KCL student. Popping across the street for Thai curry or raclette was always a much-looked-forward-to post-exam treat. There used to be a great Ethiopian stall too!

I visited London in 2019 and I sampled quite a few doughnuts - fancy, basic, vegan, etc. and I can honestly say that the vanilla cream doughnut from Bread Ahead was one of the best doughnuts I’ve eaten, EVER. I still remember it.

Was there yesterday - I swear you need american football shoulder pads there at lunchtime. Spicy lamb sausage roll at Ginger Pig is an absolute winner, and they're showing Wimbledon on a nearby big screen so watched a bit of that while scoffing the big sausage roll. Winner

You tasted proper mexican tacos...that is why you liked them so much... the tortillas they use is the authentic taco tortillas made with corn, not wheat flour or hard tortillas like the ones in old el paso which are tex-mex, from the US not mexico! Glad to see there are real tacos in london... british people have missed one of the best foods by allowing americans to influence their food... hopefuly more people like you would continue tasting authentic foods form all of the world and showing brits that food can taste good

I live near another bread ahead location; tbh none their sweet pastries are anything that good, especially for the price. Their breads though are. Personally a fan of their wholemeal sourdough

@@thehillisaliveFirst I must admit that I got the country wrong, so apologies to the people of both countries. It is Iraqi food & the vendor is Juma. Highly recommend the Kubba, a sort of deep fried filled dumpling with the most delicious dipping sauces.

I had to look back to my photos from a 2019 visit to London to confirm… and I did in fact have a vanilla cream donut from Bread Ahead and it was one of the best doughnuts I have ever eaten. And I’m known for my love of doughnuts.

Don't get me started on that. I know people who took it so far that their stomachs just can't cope with 'nice' food anymore. Anything other than wartime utility meals or bland salads served in miniscule portions, and it's just burping for hours on end, moaning about "absolutely stuffed", or exhausted because "too much rich food" that meant they couldn't sleep. All for the sake of being freakishly thin for no good reason at all. That kind of crash dieting is dangerous and even doctors say you should enjoy yourself in moderation.

I mean obviously the oil is reused. Every country has a law as to when restaurants have to change their oil. Some are 3 days some more. There is no way most restaurants will change their oil everyday, it’s just not cost effective.
