@@sams2041 sorry to correct you, but as you see in the video, there are elephants on Borneo. I took this video myself at Kinabatagan river and saw more than 60 elephants with my own eyes 🙂

@@chrisabraham362 ten years ago during my first Sabah visit I made a tour along the Kinabatangan: but I had not the luck, to watch there the elephants (only in Lok Kawi zoo): I hope, to come back next January - and to meet them at the river like you

@@BruderMichael Just give it some time. I stayed at the river for 4 nights and we went on river safari twice a day. Every time we saw different wildlife: lots of birds, reptiles, macaques, orangutans and finaly twice the elephants. I was recommended Osman's homestay for the safari and would recommend the same for you.

As far as I know the pygmy elephants are the smallest elephants in the world. They are only being found on Borneo.

On that day we saw about 60 elephants. At least 10 of them were young ones, some of them babies 😊

There may be pigmi elephants. But I don't think the elephants shown here are pigmies, for they don't seem to be of the smaller size even when they are seen in their floating back size. I think the video is quite misleading the viewers.

Hi, thank you for you comment. I just did some more research and I am 100% sure that these elephants are pygmy elephants! First of all because of the location. I filmed this event in the north east of Borneo at Kinabatagan river. In this area there are only pygmy elephants to find. Also the look of the elephants. They have a longer tail, bigger ears and they are a little bit smaller than the asian elephants. Maybe check out my other videos of the elephants when they are on shore.

Those are pigmies elephants all right on countless of times i had close encounter with those smaller size elpehnats. Dont get me wrong these Sabah elphants though called pygimies not too small after all sizes could reach 7 feet for the males bit shorter for the feamales.

The Asian Elephant is much bigger. The Pygmy elephant is smaller but not that small because they are still the largest land animal in Borneo.
