The thumbnail is absolutely awesome, the T90A looks so damn menacing!

I think the only time the T90's APS has prevented me from killing one was when I was playing my EC665 Tigre HAP. Turns out HOT-3's, while extremely powerful, are not resistant to IR-Jamming like TOW-2's.

TOW missiles are wire guided, which means that there is literally a wire in the back of the missile going to the vehicle that shot it, giving the guidance inputs. So the TOW is not following a laser beam to its destination, meaning there is no laser beam to be interrupted by the Shtora. :P In game you should also notice that laser guided missiles are always circulation around the laser beam (you cant see the laser, but the missile kind of flying circles around it) while for exampe TOWs are just going straight unless you guide them to ... well not fly straight anymore.

@@1414Kai Earlier TOWs are affected. All range information that is relayed via jammer is gathered by laser, therefore it does receive bad info. Newer TOWs are designed to counter that.

Your able to detonate the timed fuse round like a regular HE round if you select your other shell (you can select your HE shell again after if you want) it doesn't airburst.

I always rangefinded twich, and put the range down my self. Then the fuze would blow off just after the contact fuze detonated the shell. But what you propose doesn't work for me. So you mean.. Have the HE-TF loaded in barrel, then rangefinde, then switch back to darts on the ammo selection and fire the HE-TF? It airbursts too if I do that. Can you please specify it a bit. Thanks!

Cargo Port, like a couple other maps would benefit from rotating the spawn points and objectives 90 degrees. It wouldn't get rid of the killing fields but it would at least balance them a bit.

Shtora is the nemesis of my Jaguar A.. With more and more Laser guided Ammo, it may be less and less of a Gimmick.

Idk the IRCM seems to work pretty well for me, very nice against Bradleys and Wiesels and BILLs that people bring to top tier. Imo T-90A is the ultimate sniper tank with its IRCM, LWS/LR, good optics, good shell and tough turret

Yea T-90A has the strongest turret NERA/composite base armor in the whole RU lineup, looking forward to the T-90M/SM

I think the reason why people kept going down at the very bottom of the map and not attack the A point on the hill was because it’s more of an instinct I suffer from it myself and he’s not pretty once you realize that the point is on the opposite side of the map….

Stura has saved me like 30 or more times in 100 battles and ill take that gladly, lots of those m3 bradleys and Wall-e's lateley aswell as other atgm boi's

Justin, literally every game on that map i try tell team to go to A cap on the hill. Like you, i still have no idea why they even bother going anywhere else

USSR tech tree is probably the one who needs the least buff right now

I dont see a use for the T-90 in a lineup, Its too slow for top tier. I use the T-72B3 and the three T-80's (with the T-80B as a last-ditch backup).

I purely have it for the radar blocker. In a match with heli spam this thing is like 10 times more survivable than anything else.

to simplify the russian tech tree for you. ww2: nice armor, nice gun, good explosive filler cold war: decent armor, nice gun, decent modern: just T-72 with a lot of ERA

I use my AH-1S weeb chopper a lot because I can’t be bothered to grind out the JGSDF Apache. I hope not too many of these appear at top tier lol, it uses TOW2 so it would really mess with my ability to hit targets. T-90 doesn’t see a lot of play I think because it’s in a different line to the T-80’s.

@@boomcat1337 the T-90MS is offered for export by roboronexport, but was also proposed for the russian army back in 2018 or 2019, I think. In any case, it's a big upgrade.

Tbh, I think that soon, perhaps, well, my opinion, but Warthunder should add either the T-80UD or the Ukrianian T-84, or possibly even the updated Ukrianian T-64BMs.

Hay Idk what is better between the T-80U or the T-72B3. The T-80U it’s faster but has less pen and armour and the T72B3 has better armour and pen but is slower. I used both in all scenarios and I having trouble to see which one is better do you think you could recommend which one is better in most cases

If you like rushing and playing as if your an Abrams then the T-80U will serve u better as a brawler. It has better turret armor than the T-72B3 as the T-72B3 is technically nearly the same turret as the 10.0 1989 one. The T-72B3 can brawl due to its armor package but it has poor reverse therefore its better as a sniper than the T-80U. However both can play either role its just that in CQC the T-80U is better but in long range the T-72B3 slightly edges out.

T-80U technically would be a pick over the 72B3 on most maps as mobility wins overall HOWEVER the 72B3 - 2nd Gen Thermals - Better gun handling -Better side armor Use T-80U on CQC maps and 72B3 on medium to long range maps.

That's pretty much every round for "balance" which kind of sucks.

Its nice to see that all the Tanks get better ammo while the swedes still stuck on DM33 with a monster repair cost. yea the better armor is really strong when you face people that dont know that its there but still. T80-BVM sometimes eats my shell sideways flat on.. and that thing as pretty good ammo too. and cost less. way less. also the AA thing. German AA and the swedish AA on 11.0 is so damn expensiv. its just stupid since the only thing they are good at is shooting down planes while there are things like the 2S6 and the ADATS. kill tanks and planes while the repair cost is a portion of the german/swedish ones... its just stupid.

@@sharkk127 War Thunder might eat all your RAM by some time. Also your CPU/GPU might get too hot. It also depends on which map you play, the newer maps are more HW heavy.

I know, as a Russia main, that Russia GF (Or Russia in general in-game) have bias, but something i don't get is why the T-80U has lower quality thermals than the T-90A, being (in that time) the most advanced tank they had, i know the T-90A was developed later, but a lot of tech was taken from the T-80U and put into the T-90, so that doesn't really make sense to me, unless in reality the T-80U really had crappy thermal imaging and none for the commander.

T-90 and T-90A are almost completely different tanks. The T-90 had the same sights as T-80U, but T-90A developed in early 2000s has new tech inside.

Maybe because the T-80u, along with every single 80s MBT had first gen thermals, since it was new technology? The T-90 we have in the game is the T-90A, not the T-90, but the A which was from the early 2000s. Why both are the same BR is self explanatory. T-90 has gen 2 thermals, 80u has turbine engine and better armor.

Not even armor. I hate playing against Leopards because they have incredible armor, as well as four crew. Onesshotting a Hull down Leo is difficult unlike Russian MBTs. Russia only performs so well because they have several busted helis and planes, whereas the other nations don't. Plus Russia can shit out tank after tank, after tank with their top tier line-up. Most other nations are far more limited. But Russian tanks are awful. I can't stand playing them.

@@PrivateMemo As a player with top tier in the 3 biggest nations, i must say i disagree. Last time i played T-80U, i had a 9 kill 0 death game, clapping M1A2s. Killing Leopards is not hard from front, take advantage of their driver hatch and lower breech spot, its almost always a oneshot. From side, aim just below turret ring where the 3 crews sit so that chances of critical damage and oneshots are highest. T-80U is definitely better than Leo 2A6 and M1A2 in my experience and playstyle. The reason why i perform so well in it is because it beats most tanks in survivability (integrated survivability onion), firepower and mobility. Its so responsive that i prefer it even over Type 90 in terms of mobility. The only weakness in my experience is gun depression, but can be worked around with good map knowledge and firing strategy. I also clubbed NATO tanks in T-72B with 3BM22 by the time i spaded it.

Since its a matter of time now only i think that we'll change the gb br cap to 11.3, what do you think about the M1A1 getting M829A1, HC moved to 11.0 and M1A1 to 10.7? Or for the 2A4 getting DM33 and change to 10.3 since the 2A5/6 will both be 11.3 capable it would leave quite a huge gap between them?

@@RevyTempest Indeed, but people have to realize that just because it has nice armor (the t-90a turret sucks balls and the t-721989 version is better). That the tank is not inherently better than say a Leo 2 or Leclrec. It’s mostly skill based except for some people with just a huge amount of bonus features of a tank vs others

that's 3bm59, 3bm60 has 740. It's a bit sad how Russia/USSR get artificially nerfed in every way imaginable; wikipedia even has T-72 armour layout tests done by WESTERN NATIONS vs apfsd, and t72b(1989) onwards are missing over 100mm hull armour and 150mm turret.

ADATS uses a laser guidance system . Shtora helps againstwire guided systems

Shtora doesnt work against most missiles found in top tier matches. Doesnt work with laser weapons, later wire-guided missiles like TOW2's, etc.. ADATS' missiles are one of those that can resist Shtora's effect

The challengers need a buff there amour and there speed that's all coz ee ain't getting anything els

@@ishiddddd4783 sniping is not all about turret armor if you are sniping having slightly less turret armor means not much cuz you should be at longe range and not much can pen t80 bvm. Plus you are soviet you dont have depression you have to show yourself fire and retreat which depends on your mobility and reverse speed t80 bvm is much better at those areas so its a better sniper overall. Aldo better reload can save you a lot while you exchanging fire at range.

@@cagrkocaslan5783 positioning beats everything, along armor and gun depression, if you get in a positiong like fire arc where the hull is hidden the T90A beats the BVM simply by the fact that in the case it does get hit it won't die, the BVM if it gets hit by anything stronger than OFL 120 F1 in the turret it will get penetrated, and it's a huge disadvantage for both tanks since they both have slower reloads than the average Top tier tank, for sniping the only advantage of the BVM is the reload since at long ranges 4km is enough to back into cover if you didn't overpush
