Smart move welding the rod! Common failure on these 1356s since the case is a softer material. Great video!

Well done Casey. Very informative and clear explanation. Never done one of these myself. Your clusters I have no problem with an a standard but automatics or transfer cases I’ve always taken in. Maybe they’re just too intimidating for me. Cheers my friend🍻🍻👍👍👍

Yeah, Ron, I’m the same way, but the t-case was actually much more simple than my T-5 was, on the Mustang project. I’ll continue being intimidated by the auto’s, however. 😂 Cheers! 🍻🍻👍🏼👍🏼

GREAT VIDEO.... I really like the way you commentated this; I get so tired of finding videos with good info, but I have to watch an hour of commentary that easily would bore a NUN to death... You did a great job, and your experience as a mechanic is tenured and easily recognizable. Again, there nothing worse than watching a long video that's deathly boring to find no relevant information anyway. I really enjoyed the fact I could arrow through your video frames to see your (GREAT PICS) and see what I needed, if I needed to know more than what I was seeing I let the video play and you are spot on staying focused to the point and the topic, seriously like the fact you didn't chase butterflies all during the recording and then publish an hour and a half long video where you discuss politics and religion and rarely discuss the topic of the video.... HAHAHAHAHAHALOLOLOL right!!! keep up the great work, this video helped me remember how my BW1356 was assembled, considering I disassembled it nearly 18 months ago now... Thanks Again look forward to any new videos.

Thanks Marshall! Reseal isn’t too bad at all, but you might as well address that oil pump cam while you’re in there.

I’m have this exact transfer case, but it’s electronic shift. Not sure if I am installing the part correctly. Still searching for a video that’ll show me exactly how that piece is positioned. I don’t want to put it all back together - just to rip it down again.

Help Casey. I have searched in vain for a BW1356 shift shaft seal. What do you use?

That was one of the few correct parts that came in my rebuild kit. I’m assuming you’ve tried taking the old seal to a bearing and hydraulic supply? Parts for these boxes are getting difficult to find. My last thought would be to call Anaheim Gear. They have a TON of parts…

I couldn’t find a rebuild kit from any source that had everything I needed in it, AND, it turned out that the bearing “kit” I bought ended up having the two most difficult to change bearings from a Chinese manufacturer, so I ended up having to buy those twice. So…if you care about having the “right stuff”, I’d recommend just buying everything individually, right out of the gate.

What kind of fluid did you use?
