Spent a couple of weeks in Paris last summer, there are *so* many cool signs there all over the places, especially the old Metro-signs, the buildings tend to blend into a mush after a while, but the signs are soooo nice :D

Ha, another sign lover! Feels so good to know I am not alone! We were in Paris for only few days, but definitely going to go back there in near future to focus more on taking photos and to make a little cinematic (is that a curse word these days?) video of the city. I also have few bucket shots that require a bit more specific weather than the sunshine from cloudless sky and wind that blows like crazy.

@@timovehkaoja Always good to have som shots waiting to happen to have a reason to go back, «it’s a work trip you know» ;) And signs, they where «the internets» back in the day, so much creativity went into the signs when there really weren’t that many other ways of getting exposure, so much good workmanship and creativity poured into those old pieces of plastic and wood :)

@@AndreSjoberg Yeah, I find it so amazing how much craftsmanship there can be in a thing we tend to overlook in our every day lives! We have nothing like that here in Oulu, not even neon signs. Well, we have... two. Or three. In the entire city. But that's pretty much it!

How pleased you are with your R7 and this lens combo Timo? I'm thinking of upgrading from my 800D mainly because I need a silent shutter and a bit better AF. I shoot mainly live music shows so lots of low light situations but I usually don't go over ISO 3200 in my camera and denoising does the rest. You feel like I will see an upgrade or downgrade when it comes to sharpness and overall picture quality? I see many people saying the obvious that the R6 mkII for example takes more quality photos but... those ones also perform much better than my actual camera so yep, how you feel about yours?? (I also have a Sigma 50-100 cropped and that's the main reason why I wanna upgrade, just to have a bit better picture quality, some better autofocus, and the silent shutter for theatre gigs)

More than pleased. It was an absolute game changer for me when I got it for the R7. And since you already have the 50-100mm Art, this will pair up PERFECTLY with it 👍🏻

In the last months I have just been trying to capture the music scene in Saigon the best I could and this camera will definitely help. Thanks a lot and will keep an eye on your channel (will try to find you on IG right away)

Depends on what you are going to shoot 👍🏻 for landscapes it is good, but if you need to go wider, 10-22mm Canon or the 14-24mm are also good choices. I have the 10-22mm, 18-35mm and 50-150mm 👍🏻 And yes, I’m Finnish :)

Also, did you take the tour of the Catacombs underneath the city? If not you *have* to go there next time, it is surreal - Also, taking a day trip to Nantes, and visit Les Machines de l'île and the gigantic mechanical elephant, it’s a magical weird Jules Verne-place that has to be experienced - just google it to see what it is :)

  • @timovehkaoja

No, we didn't do the catacomb tour, but going there next time for sure! We went to see the old German/Italian submarine base from WWII in Brodeaux, that was also really surreal! Just to think the amount of bombs that they dropped on the building was just absurd, and it still stands today! They even tried to demolish it but it proved out to be indestructible, so they converted into a art gallery. Oh, gotta check out the Les Machines de l'ile, I love Jules Verne! Grew up reading the Around the World in 80 Days, so I guess it's worth visiting then!

@@timovehkaoja I devoured the Twenty Thousand leagues under the sea and mysterious island-books, The Nautilus submarine sounded like a magical machine :D As a Verne-fan you deffo have to go to Nantes, the official Jules Verne museum is there, and the Machine-place has several small and large mechanical animals built jules verne style, and you can even ride on the elephant, it’s 12 meters tall - the whole place is a repurposed shipyard of sorts, amazing place :)
