Singles is a different beast. It’s actually more surprising they stayed as long as they did on the tour bc you need to literally run marathons compared to doubles. Doubles is all about executing the right shot, technique & strategy. Same as singles, but there’s less room for error. So perfect shots & less to do with physique & at times if your will power can outlast your opponent’s

His brain is two steps ahead which makes up for his legs being one step behind.

Bopanna is just so calm and collected under pressure. If you didn't know any better you'd think he's playing a weekend doubles match with friends instead of a Masters 1000 final.

I am not sure if you are making this comment just based on this match.... he is a terrific player but he succumbs to pressure .... his serve stops working , his hands start shaking on volleys when he is under pressure but now since last year I have seen him improving on that a bit ... he hasn't been able to win a major due this problem only that he gets nervous
