Bootsy on IG often just giving love. I knew him from James Brown then Jungle Bass was the first cassette I could find. Then even later I found Hardcore Jollies on 8-Track at a thrift store but my parents still had an old 8track/record stereo system in storage. Great passive speakers. Older tech, but what bump! That was my stereo system and fave 8track in high school in1990. I also liked They Might Be Giants and Butthole Surfers. Music is weird but just good.

Let's be honest. Dr Dre and a lot of other beatmakers recycled old funk songs. They never created a particular sound of their own. Only recycled stuff

Dr. Dre was pretty good at structuring it into a more consumable pop package. Funk can be meandering at times.
