A ka page per hour = 16/3. B ka page pe hour = 8. Now add both the rate we will get 40/3. Now we have to write 110 page and we are asked to find out the time so simply divide work by the rate, I.e. 110* 3/40 so we will get 33/4. That is 8 and 1/4. Now to find minutes multiply 1/4 with 60 and we will get 15 minutes so the answer is 8 hr:15 min. Hope it’s clear! Still if you have any doubt you can ask.

Hi, You can exchange them, it was a hassle though, check my following solution - For the first contractor question (Please refer to the timestamp - 48:21)- SOLVED BY RATIO METHOD (Bahut confusing hoga- not recommended) It is given as 50 workers were able to do 40% of the work in 25 days. So just to even it out lets keep in mind that if they continued with 50 workers, the time taken would be 62.5 days (12.5 days more than the contract !!) Now lets get into the ratio method - workers - 50 : 50+X Time - 50+x : 50 So basically 50 units was 25 days (As 50+X workers worked for 25 days to complete the work in time) 1 unit is, you guessed it right, 1/2. so when we get into the time ratio again, you see the first value (50+x) it is nothing but 25days plus x units. Now, if we recall as mentioned earlier 50 workers are taking 12.5 days extra. so that extra time is being covered by the x workers the contractor has hired. Now now, what exactly is x units !? it is nothing but 12.5 days in case of time which means x = 12.5days. 1 unit is 1/2 , thus x units= 12.5*2 = 25. There we get it, 25. Second contractor question (52:30)-( This one was pretty straightforward) MDH/W method Let the total work to be done be 2w (split across each 20 days as W) Let x be the amount of work that 150 workers left out in the first 20 days. (This work was covered by the 50 newly added workers in the next 20days) (150*20) / (w - x) = (200*20) /(w+x) solving will give you w/x = 7/1 The ratio 7:1 has come to us now, so instead of 7units of work to be done in first 20 days by 150 workers, only 6units of work was done (w-x = 6) As total work is 2w (tobecompleted in 40days as mentioned in the contract) = 14 units (7 units*2) Now we know that 150 workers only did 6units of work in 20days. so in 40days they will only be able to complete 12units of work . Remaining 2 units of work needs to be done by them. As we know they did 6units in 20 days, they'll do 1unit in 20/6days. Thus they will be able to do 2 units in (20/6)*2 days, which is 20/3.
