My absolute favorite way to do it. If the axle is out and on some vehicles you can do it with the axle in, is I use a ball joint press. On my lightened, gun drilled axles. I'm always afraid of bending the flanges by banging on them.

I’ve raced outlaw tracks for many years and they don’t do the NHRA tech stuff. So I’ve got some changes I need to make to my car. Although I know the only time they will ever be looked at is the NN. I pretty much run no prep stuff now

When it comes to thread engagement you want 4 threads, which is the standard on any nut you care to count. The first 3 threads on a bolt or stud do 85% of the work.

With the torque, and other motion forces on the lug nuts, to use only 4 threads is nutz😂. A Standard used in my profession I've been working in for 34 years, is a minimum of 3 threads PAST the nut. So no matter what size the bolt, the nut must have 3 threads minimum showing past the nut. Now, in racing, I've noticed a lot of people using studs that have over an inch of threads showing, in which I feel is unnecessary, unless they're using wheel spacers also 🤔, but a lot of the time, they are not. I see 👀 this, and wonder what the thought process is for having 1-2 inches of extra length for? Thanks for the video. 😎🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲

Any part of the threads past the nut are useless. 4 threads is all you need,. If more were required, nuts would have more than 4. Bolts don't pull threads out. They snap well before that happnens. Don't care what your standard is in your profession. The standard application is what matters.
