GOOD VIDEO! I have the same egr issue with my lb7 its hissing like a mad snake and im only seeing 11 psi of boost!! Glad I could confirm the egr isn't supposed to do that!

@chasebecker did you fix the egr leak? I have replaced mine twice and they all leak.

Is the EGR Valve suppose to be air tight? I cleaned mine and one of the valves does not seal air tight. As previously commented a guy replaced his 3 times with the same leaking issue from one of the valves. I am about to try and use some valve lapping compound and rotate the shaft till both valves fully seal. There is little info on how these EGR Valves work. Why 2 valves? Is 1 of the valves suppose to leak boosted air to clean soot buildup in the EGR Cooler? I’ll try to post videos on my channel.

Dang 300k normally isn't nothing for the CP3 pumps. However, everything mechanical has a life span. How did you determine the CP3 was bad?

Would this throw a code? I get PO2262 for turbo performance. Heard MAP (replaced), heard wires for MAP or EGR can rub thru due to poor routing and rub on AC line...etc. also heard the hot side boots (bought a replacement upper on but not yet on). And this is the first one about a EGR leak I have heard but I did not have a suspicion this was the cause. Thx

It’s slightly possible it would. Be a very good place to start. Map you should be able to check your voltages to determine if it’s reading correct or not.

I have an LBZ Duramax when I did the loose leak test I was leaking from the same exact area. What exactly did you do on this truck and did it fix the issue? I read on a forum that a guy replaced his EGR three different times and it was still leaking in that same area. I don’t really want to do a full delete because I want to still pass omissions.

Just get new gaskets mine leaked and new gaskets did the trick till I got a EGR code down the road. Iv seen guys replace the valve and reuse the metal gaskets and they still leak till they get new gaskets. Really you should not have to replace the EGR itself you just need to clean them which can be a pain. A shop will not clean them they will charge you for a new one. Fill a 5 gallon bucket up with simple green and remove the acuator from the side then drop it in and leave it in overnight. Pull it out and scrub it down then let it dry. When my EGR code came on I took it to a shop and they told me " oh we will have to replace the cooler and EGR valve they are bad" they wanted $1000 to do so. I went home looked up how to pull it out it took me a whole day I cleaned it up installed it back in and that was 20k+ miles ago haven't seen that check engine light since. Truck also runs a lot better 😁. I just plan on cleaning mine roughly every 100k. My truck ran 200k before it triggered a light and it really wasn't all that badly clogged.

05 LLY, i ruled out the piping / boots and intercooler. I bring the gauge up to 20 and hear lots of air movement (not hissing) down the back of the firewall and my guage drops off relatively quick. Any ideas?

Try listening out the tail pipe while pushing air through the system, if you hear hissing clearly at the end of the tail pipe most likely the egr valve itself has failed and is stuck open causing your boost to blow out the exhaust.

@PLPTP Should of mentioned it is fully deleted with a new cold side pipe not just blocker plates.
