As a student of communication design I am forced to use Photoshop but whenever I am not forced I use your software. It's so much more intuitive and easier to use. Please serif, grow, make more programs and become a threat to Adobe. amongst all designer programs you have the highest chance of succeeding. ❤

I agree. Im also forced to use photoshop and I hate every moment. Affinity just makes more sense.

I would love some kind of command line or way to use precision .. if I want to duplicate a shape or line precisely 20 milimeters to the right or offset 7 milimeters to the left … really missing this in Affinity designer

Hi, I would duplicate the object and then go to the transform panel and type +20mm after the x coordinate to duplicate an object 20 mm the right. Would this work for you?

1. you hit enter on the object you want to duplicate and a move menu will pop up. you then have the option to choose how many duplicates as well as how much distance between each object 2. you go to the arrangement options in the toolbar and uncheck "auto" and you can drag or type in the distance you want the duplicated objects.

Not too long ago, this is how I worked as well. But since we now have the shape builder tool, this way is pretty much obsolete, right?

I agree, the Shape Builder is a great addition and usually my preference too! But I do believe there is still a place for Boolean operations e.g. if you want to add lots of things together quickly, the Boolean Add is instant whereas Shape Builder you'd need to click-drag through every zone or change the drag method to marquee then select all then press enter (3 steps). And Compound shapes allow you to keep the flexibility of the original shapes inside the new shape.😊

FYI: It's pronounced X OR (as two words)... not ZOR

You're misunderstanding. It's not a new made up word for a software feature, It's a logical operator in mathematics, electronics and computer science that has been around for a long, long time before Affinity even existed and it's supposed to be pronounced X OR or Exclusive OR. More specifically, the 'X' comes from the 'Exclusive' part of the statement, hence how it's pronounced 'X'-OR not ZOR. @@musictheory4u153
