Best of luck with your thesis! I hope that in your break, booktube will start nourishing your reading and not the other way around. On a personal note, while the lack of views can be discouraging, you are definitely a booktuber who has had a bigger impact on my reading than others. Your channel was a part of the reason I started to prioritize local literature (south african over here), and the way you present literary fiction makes it more approachable, espacially for myself who is quite intimidated by heavier books.

I'm glad you're not leaving. I wish you the best in your studies. I'll be here for whatever you make. Babel is for sure worth the read.
Really, really sad to see you go, even though I understand the pressure and the need for a break. I hope you will return at some point and for now I wish you all the best for your masters, I'm sure you will write a fabulous thesis! X

Congrats on reaching your thesis stage! I hope you're ethics portion of the thesis gets approved post-haste! I feel you on wanting to move away from trending books to find what you truly love as a reader. I used to love going into the bookstore and thrift shops and just gravitating toward interesting titles I'd never heard of before becoming apart of online book community. Taking a break from cataloging my journey bought me back to that space and I'm so grateful. Also, Ruth Ozeki's Tales for the Time Being is so good! 🤩I want to read her other books, but school has kept me from reading too much lately.

Thank you for this! Yes, taking a step back and really reinvigorate you love for something. I'm looking forward to reading without the pressure to catalogue. And you should absolutely read some more Ozeki! I need to as well!
I hope you come back & best of luck for the time away, especially with your thesis 🥰
I hope you are doing well and that your break has been refreshing. Best of luck on your masters!
I've definitely taken times when I can't watch and immerse myself into booktube because of life and even thinkimg about making videos in that space is so hard. So I hope the next year is beautiful for you and your masters and everything else going on. See you when you post 🤎

I totally get your struggles! I did the reverse - a full time job with a part-time Masters. Luckily that part of my life is behind me, otherwise I would not have started a Booktube channel this year. 😅 For what it's worth, even though I'm a mostly fantasy/sci-fi reader, I still enjoy your reviews of books that are outside my normal go-to! Best of luck finishing your grad program. 😊

Thank you so much! I can't wait to be finished!
When your life gets less hectic, I feel like there is a niche for your content simply because no one else is doing it. That's why I subscribed. I read SFF and YA, but that's not ALL I read. It's just making provocative enough titles and thumbnails to find your viewers. Good luck with your studies and see you on the other side :).

Thank you! And I'll definitely take that into consideration!
Just found your channel and find your content and personality refreshing and compelling. I say, take as much time off as you need, but please come back. I think over time your channel will grow. Your perspective is unique, and there are not enough non-American/British centric literary fiction channels on booktube. I’m also a fan of Russell over at Ink & Paper blog because he makes an effort to find more obscure titles from smaller imprints. I have discovered so many books through him. He has a relatively small audience but I get the feeling they are very loyal because of, not despite of, his niche content. Anyway, coincidentally I finished Seven Moons last night and gave it 5 stars. It’s wildly inventive and kept me coming back for more. Highly recommended, for what it’s worth. Good luck with your endeavors and happy new year!
i'm so sorry this has become such a commitment for you. i always loved your editing like i will never forget you spraying your plants and making sex/lonely jokes when you were on your knees LOOOOOOL lives in my mind rent free. i also love your reviews of obscure books; those were always my favorites 😭😭 good luck with the degree, job, and all of your future endeavors! 💖

best of luck with your thesis! sometimes a break is needed.
All the Best to you and your endeavors, truly!
I feel you on the disconnect. Been so busy this year I couldn't invest the time I would've liked into my channel but also don't feel like reading the books that are talked about most a lot. Good luck on your degree, prioritizing is important and you can always come back whenever you feel like making a video.

That was a very honest video, that is the reason why I like your channels and reviews so much. I am on the same boat trying to finish a book I started two months ago. I also noticed that most booktubers read the same books or type of books, which it is pretty boring and repeatitive. I hope you have a good break and keep posting your honest reviews.

Thank you so much this means a lot! And you're not a bad supporter at all! I appreciate all my viewers evenr the ones who don't comment, thought I'm happy to be reading yours rn ☺️
I just saw that you posted a new video, and I just wanted to say that there are people out there who really want to know your thoughts and discussions on those obscure books that you randomly pick up. I might be wrong, but I think that's going to be a trend soon, going back to the roots of reading. I keep hearing booktubers and booktubers watchers saying how tired they are of the mainstream content and how things have become for booktube. I think your perspective brings a fresh set of mindset and books that people will want to fall in love with. I myself have been changing the way I watch booktube and read books because I grew so annoyed with how things had changed to become so monotonous. I either want old booktube to come back, or more booktubers like you to come out of the shadows. I'm so glad you posted your come back, I can't wait to see what you share! It might seem like we're a small percentage interested in your content, but we're there trust me.:) And like I said, I think the more tired the people will grow of watching the same stuff, the more they're be interested in changing perspective and watching different content like yours. 🙌

I always love your videos!! (whenever you feel like posting) Speaking of the Women’s Prize, I finally read The Bread the Devil Knead and it was SO good. Such a compelling story with an immediacy and immersive storytelling. One of my favorites of the year for sure. Good luck with your masters work and getting back into reading for yourself 💛🥳

You are unique on Booktube, very much needed, I think. But I'm glad you will focus on priorities. Suerte.
One of the big reasons I like your channel is that you talk about more “obscure” books that I wouldn’t maybe hear about otherwise and that it’s different to what many other channels are talking about! But enjoy your break, and good luck with the degree!

Good luck with your masters degree! Balancing that and a job, very understandable you need and want to step back from making videos. I too stopped making videos several months back. I don’t think I’m done with KZread, I just need to figure out if doing Booktube specifically is what I’d want to continue doing. I don’t watch much Booktube anymore, so… things to think about.
