Funny you should mention high fantasy. I just got into Malazan Book of the Fallen, which I am having so much fun with and will finish the series going into 2022.

Just finished The Regulators abd it was solid imo and am now starting The Blinding Knife aka book 2 by Brent Weeks from his Lightbringer series. My advice is start with shorter series and build up to WoT. It is a polarizing series because Jordan paces every book at the speed of a snail and then the last 150 pages are excellent. Books 1-6 are great, 7-10 are dreadful and then 11-14 are great as well. Good luck!

Great video! I've read Gerald's Game and The Cell. I kind of liked the Cell but Gerald's Game is not one I cared for. It seemed much longer than it needed to be. I will be reading The Tommyknockers this year, hopefully.

Nice list. It depends what I get for Christmas but my five “must reads” of 2022 for me will be: 1) Theo and the Forbidden Language by Melanie Ansley (fantasy). 2) Left to You by Daniel J Volpe (Horror) 3) Eye of the Wolf by AE Rayne (Fantasy) 4) The Indifferent Stars Above by Daniel James Brown (Non Fiction-History) 5) A Woman In The Polar Night by Christiane Ritter (Autobiography) They might not end up being my five favourites but they are my five must reads.

It would be considered an anthology the three books in one. Usually, an anthology is a compilation of different books in the same genre. Same term could be used for tv series and movies. I love your videos and I love Stephen King. I am really thinking about uploading videos on Stephen kings novels. I actually took a uni course on Stephen King and it was awesome!

I entered brandon sanderson's contest too, the leatherbounds were the mistborn trilogy, elantris, warbreaker and tge way of kings. Really excited for that givaway. I finished reading the way of kings from the stormlight archive and i loved it !!! Can't wait for words of radiance. I hear people saying that edgedancer (its included in arcanum unbounded: cosmere short story collection) comes before oathbringer and then dawnshard(novella) comes before rythym of war I love sanderson!! I've read the mistborn trilogy and warbreaker from the cosmere and i want to read all the books from the cosmere. I highly recommend the mistborn trilogy. I also want to start the wheel of time too. I heard that the wheel of time fandom is amazing. Also starting discworld with Mort. Which Stephen King books do you think i should read before starting The Dark Tower??? In order to get the connections in the multiverse

Great show Funk. Your plan for next year sounds good. Me and my girlfriend have started reading a lot more of Stephen King after your recommendations. We both finished the Stand last month and liked it. Well, she finished it a lot earlier since she's a much faster reader than me. And I recently started listening to the Eye of the World and think its okay so far. A few questions. Where are you from and where do you live? I think I spotted a Cleveland Indians tattoo on your arm. Also, are any of your tattoos book related? All the best from Iceland.

I'm currently reading The Hunt For Red October. I've seen the movie which is great but I'm a little taken aback at the lack of pacing in the book. It's very bogged down with military strategy and overly technical explanations of submarine engineering. It's also billed as the first Jack Ryan Novel and halfway through it , he really is an afterthought so far. Curious if you've ever read it or if you plan to
