@Meta Man true. The only difference being that DX didn't water the concept down with 1000 members. DX also was more light & comical where the NWO was more about brute force. I don't know how true it is, but around the time of the NWO there was a ground swelling about a one world government that was given the title of "The New World Order". I had heard that Ted Turner was a big supporter of the one world government concept. I always thought that if that was true, what better way to indoctrinate millions of people to the New World Order idea than to have that NWO wrestling faction in their homes every week. You take the biggest star on the planet in Hulk Hogan & have him saying "New World Order" weekly... Again, I don't know if that was all true or not but if you were looking to push a real world political agenda & you KNOW you have millions of eyes staring at their TV every Monday night...

The problem nobody wants to admit to is how badly botched nWo was in WCW. They never had a long term plan for it. There was no conclusion to WCW v nWo. Instead fans got nWo infighting, red v black. Ideally looking back nWo should have lost to WCW cleanly, clearly and in doing so put over a fresh class of workers THEN have the red v black breakdown. Eventually you end up with interesting storylines and the wrestlers with the talent and experience to headline while the old guard slowly fades away. Just an opinion but guys like Benoit, Booker T, DDP, Rey, Eddie, Jericho, Wrath, Kanyon, Raven, Kidman, Chavo, Ultimo Dragon, Scotty Riggs, Disco, Alex Wright, Malenko, La Parka Bagwell, Giant Paul White would have been better equipped to lead WCW into a competitive and profitable 2000's. Hall, Nash, Hogan, Savage, Flair, Sting, Henning and Lex all should have been on legacy contracts post nWo and used very sparingly to spike ratings.

Great insight! The problem with the nWo is simple. They couldn't decide is they were a faction or a complete wrestling organization. I've heard Bischoff say it was meant to become a separate organization but if that's the case why didn't they wrestle each other? Lol....🤔😏. Once they had the split from The Wolfpac I guess that was closer to what Bischoff says and that's probably when Nash approached Booker T. Instead they ended up with a guy like Luger who didn't fit at all. In the end they were truly a faction who ran as a pack vs WCW so that's where having 20 guys becomes overkill and stale. The last straw was reforming into nWo Elite, and that damn fingerpoke of doom.

I remember watching them put Book in the 2002 nWo and thinking "damn WWF knows how to screw up anything they didn't create!" That group looked so stupid together in my opinion. Although I didn't appreciate the unceremonious KICKING out of the group (especially since he had no retribution v Shawn but that's WWF keeping Booker down once again during the early days smh 😒), I was happy to see him out of the group. It's pretty obvious Booker isn't a "faction guy" especially not in his prime at that time. He was awesome in the MEM in TNA but that worked for ALL of those guys even Sting as a bunch of legendary veterans.

The only thing that angle did for book was give him a great face turn they didn't take advantage of

@@The810kid Exactly! I was watching, waiting for him to feud with them and ended up like "man, these people don't REALLY respect Booker".

Vince McMahon & WWE need to bring back the WCW brand. Just in time for Survivor Series next month, November 24, 2019. Raw Vs Smackdown Vs NXT (Vs WCW?). Could only imagine the pop in the crowd and the reaction from the WWE Universe at the arena if that happens. Wrestling fans around the world would get a part of their childhood back again. (For those that were kids/teenagers in the 1990's). Have Goldberg lead the resurgence of the new generation of WCW.

The NWo should never had expanded to the size it did....there the DX thing could have been emulated. The core group of NWo was beyond dope af and the villainy was on point especially when Hollywood Hulk switched up and joined

I don't care what Booker say.. in the WWE they put him in the NWo just to embarrass him like always. If you look at Booker t's career in the WWE they humiliated him bad
