It's not that someone should have stopped him. Someone should have forced him to do it the RIGHT way - apply for an amateur license, fight 5 amateur fights, then turn pro and fight someone at the same level. Pay dues just like everybody else.

I don't think so. To be honest, it's easy to say he did because he has lost twice now. It's way too early to say yes or no. He did what he wanted to do, when he wanted to do it. That's all he can do, y`know?

He never said he will become a champion in UFC. Not saying, he was not a bit delusional but if UFC reaches out to someone offering them a chance to fight, very few would say no, given the amount of money at stake and given it's their dream to fight MMA. UFC reached out to Punk and not the other way around.

Rahul BJJ there’s an interview with that Collin dude from fox before his mickey gall fight and CM Punk clear as day said (I’m paraphrasing) “who knows maybe after I win my next fight I win another 2-3 fights and get a title shot”. I loved CM Punk as a wrestler but he was way in over his head and completely delusional to think at his age he can actually fight in the UFC.

CM Punk was only signed by the UFC due to his brand name. Both sides made money from this but at the same time he had no business in that octagon and was exposed. If CM Punk was some no name dude he would never gotten this chance. He has no amateur mma fights prior. Yet here he is in the biggest mma promotion. All these mma fighters have a base skill whether its wrestling, kick boxing, boxing, jiu jitsu, etc. Both Brock Lesner and Bobby Lashley had legitimate collegiate wrestling backgrounds and found success in mma. Hell both these dudes didn't even start in the UFC.

CM Punk knew for himself that he did not have the skills to conquer the octagon, but he knew he had the name brand to get him the attention that he really wanted in the WWE. He wanted to feel like a spectacle. The UFC gave that to him.

CM Punk was determined to have an MMA match. A lot of people said he should have started in the amateur ranks first. Maybe. But he was also 38 years old, with 15 years worth of wrestling injuries. A younger, healthier, hungrier, better trained fighter would have had a good chance at beating CM Punk in the amateur ranks. Then where would CM Punk go? He would have had a publicized loss, and the appeal of paying to see him fight for the first time on a UFC PPV wouldn't have been there. CM Punk got to have two big paydays in the UFC, instead of getting some crappy paydays in the amateur scene and probably losing anyway.

His character is kinda like Kenta with the theatrical MMA moves he does. His outspoken voice made him intimidate by a lot of people even triple h who’s wanna the toughest SOBs ever with The Rock. Now we know his background was made up in that promo in 2006 ECW. Undertaker look like a real fighter and he’s tall but he never went out his lane to look more scary not to say that was punks reason but he did it because he genuinely loved it imo and in grief of his push

I honestly can't believe that this bum CM Punk, once referred to himself as God. In a shoot CM Punk told the Rock, that his arms were to short to box with God. CM Punk would have trouble boxing a wet paper bag.

What he NEEDS to do is get away from the limelight for a while, decide what HE wants to do with his life. He's not been able to leave the WWE behind due to the prep for this stupid ass lawsuit and WWE's attempts to make an example of him. Now that the suit is over, he has a chance to lay low, really see what he wants. I doubt he'll ever return to WWE, and honestly, I'd hate for him to return there and be treated like everyone else who dared get over on their own. IF he wrestles again, I see him going to ROH, Impact or NJPW, but he's just as likely to leave the public eye behind forever, and that's fine too.

So in 2014 he was burnt out and tired. Well wrestlers like Bret Hart, Shawn Michaels, Randy Orton and John Cena all took long break to heal for their body and mind. Honestly, that's all CM Punk should have done. Maybe today he would be main eventing Wrestle Mania. I know that because he never got to Main event Wrestle Mania, lost to the Undertaker and on another paperview was forced to put HHH over, which made no sense from a business aspect is what caused a bad taste in his mouth. I can't claim he for that. Let's not forget one thing, now that he has lost his only two UFC fights, he really can't come back.

If you look at Punk's matches IN the UFC, you see EVERYTHING you need to. The man doesn't understand the sport, his trainers spoonfed him, and he was given a shot at the biggest stage when he wasn't ready. Punk should have been told to fight in some smaller promotions first rather than be thrown into the deep end to see if he'd float. Now that he's severed all ties with the WWE, he's going to have to deal with a damaged reputation in a sport that doesn't respect him when he's not even in his prime. Any way you look at it, Booker is right. Punk is in a terrible situation and he has only himself to blame.

@Wraithzone Games yeah, that was Vince being Vince... but Punk was totally unprepared for the UFC. That's the situation he could have avoided, if he thought about what he was doing.

@Wraithzone Games Oh definitely, Punk got out on his own terms and you have to respect that. What I meant is that after Jackson utterly embarrassed Punk, his reputation as an MMA fighter is now in serious trouble. I hope he can turn things around for himself, maybe get some trainers who know what they're doing. The fact is, if he wants to keep fighting, he's now got a serious hill to climb and it won't be long before he's going to be too old to compete at that level anymore, and that's what Booker is talking about, I think.

The bottom line is, CM Punk HATED the McMahon family towards the end. His health was suffering from WWE's non-stop schedule big time, and he NEEDED a break from the business. He didn't care about wanting to become a Pro Wrestling great anymore, he didn't want to put up with Triple H & the McMahons and he wanted time to heal from all the injuries he was carrying. And after he left, he enjoyed being free and not having to show up to WWE every damn week. It just wasn't meant to be in the end. Let's just appreciate him for everything he did in the WWE and leave it at that. One of the best all-round mic-workers & wrestlers WWE has ever had, on par with Austin/Rock/Cena with the mic & HBK/AJ Styles in the ring.

CM Punk walked into the UFC wanting to live out a dream. You can't bash on a man with no real training in wanting to pursue a dream. He lost twice. If he loses again he can go back to the drawing board. Anyone that bashes on a regular guy going in against a skilled fighter with little to no training delusional is someone that has no fight for their dreams themselves. Dreams will always be an uphill battle.

Punk still has a large following which is kinda sad. He has done a lot for the wrestling world tho. As he put independent wrestling on the map as the new standard for new wrestlers in the come-up. He (along with DB) set a new image on pro wrestling, whereas large juiced up dudes weren’t the only good wrestlers. His fan base resides in wrestling. so switching to a professional sport that is meant for people with years of experience sounds stupid. Punk could’ve done so much more and decides to give up on his on fans and his career. UFC fans don’t appreciate him lol. I’m a bigger ufc fan than a Wwe fan and his fights will never be remembered in the octagon. But his Wwe matches are still talked about. I don’t like punk and his stupid egotistical fans but I feel bad for both of them because they all fled to a new home that was never goin to welcome them. UFC learned from this situation and fired him. WWE moved on. Punk only won a lawsuit and made tons of money. And none of his fans ever received anything back. The boy doesn’t give a fuck about his supporters and because of that I’m kinda glad he failed.

If Punk dusts himself off, starts fighting for a smaller organisation then maybe finish his career with a redemption fight in the UFC, you can call him a fighter and no one can call him out on that. Sadly, I get the feeling Punk wont fight again and then its just a matter of time before he's working a lesnar type contract for WWE. If he heads back to the UFC somehow then he's a fool and deserves to get embarrassed

"Maybe he didn't want to be one of the all time greats in WWE??" What are you talkin' about, Book-man?? He WANTED to be one of the all time greats in WWE, but Vince and Triple H wouldn't let him. He wanted to be like John Cena, The Rock or even Stone Cold Steve Austin, but they wouldn't let him!! He deserved to have a better push than the PG era ass clown shit we're getting now on WWE. I can't believe I'm defending him, as I usually can't stand CM Punk, but I know pure talent when I see it and CM Punk has that talent. The WWE universe still loves him and chants his name because they can see it too. He deserved better handling than what Vince and Triple H gave him credit for. If Vince and Triple H want the WWE to survive, they should start listening to the fans and stop making such stupid decisions with ridiculous story lines and terrible gimmicks!! CM Punk is not a gimmick, he's the real deal. Get him back (with an engraved apology and a pay raise) or go under. It's your choice, WWE.
