Anna Karenina is a novel by the Russian author Leo Tolstoy, first published in book form in 1878. Many authors consider Anna Karenina the greatest work of literature ever written, and Tolstoy himself called it his first true novel.
The novel deals with themes of betrayal, faith, family, marriage, Imperial Russian society, desire, and rural vs. city life. The plot centers on an extramarital affair between Anna and dashing cavalry officer Count Alexey Vronsky that scandalizes the social circles of Saint Petersburg and forces the young lovers to flee for Italy in a futile search for happiness. Returning to Russia, their lives further unravel.

Being a russian kid and being forced to read all that during school summer vacation I hated literally with passion. Why even force kids when most of literature can be properly evaluated only when you're an adult

You're not wrong - I hated reading when I was a kid because it was required and I had to review it through the lens of whatever my teacher wanted me to. It wasn't until years after finishing school that I finally started enjoying things like Ana and even Shakespeare (which I HATED in high school).

No, these 2 videos cover the whole book... The „parts“ of the video are just parts of the video , they do not correspond to the book parts

@@bellasletras To me, the entire book is laying the groundwork for the last chapters. They discuss Levin's struggles with religion and the meaning of life.
